Jersey Question

Hi all,

So I bought a jersey online from sportsk.com. Most people here recommend them so I went to National Sports and Hockey Life to check out sizing. I fit a small in stores, but when the jersey came in the mail says it's a small but fits much bigger. Anyone know what is going on here?

Aren't big enough to fit in a jersey? I recommend squats. deadlifts, bench press, and overhead press. Eat hearty.

Hate to use this on a fellow oiler fan, but captain hindsight might say something like this...

That said I've never used that site so I could be wrong, but the general consensus on cheap online jerseys is that they're counterfeit and not made to the same sizing or quality standards as a real one.

Reebok Premier & Edge jerseys (aside from the 2.0's) aren't produced with the intent of wearing pads underneath. It's definitely not that.

SportsK is also 100% legit so it's not a counterfeit.

From what I've read on the Icejerseys forums is that jerseys can occasionally run larger even in the same size. One 48 may not fit the same as another.

Man that jersey looks terrible.

How is that legit? The logo looks screen printed and glued with that yellow glue stick.

If it's from SportsK it's the real deal. Only authentic stuff with them 100%

I have purchased many things from SportsK. It's 100% legit and they do a good job on customizations. Here is one of the jerseys they did for me:

The real problem here is that the Reebok Premier replicas are terrible. I only buy CCM 550s if I want a replica.

Three people all use the exact same phrase ("100% legit") to describe an obvious knockoff, crap product?

Hmm ... where have I seen that on the Internet before?

If you want a jersey, save your money and buy a real one. Team sites have end-of-season sales, and it makes way more sense to spend $150 on quality than $50 on garbage.

A knockoff wouldn't have that notch that interrupts the stripes that Reebok puts on their replica jerseys.

People are right to be skeptical, but Sportsk is a legit retailer. I'm sure others will agree later.

Add to the fact that SportsK sells their stuff at the same price as any other jersey ($150 ish). Only difference is that their stitching is top notch rather than that press on stuff that the nhl store sends out.

The quality doesn't really show through the bad camera. I'm only questioning the legitimacy of the jersey because it doesn't fit the way other smalls have fit. It is a quality jersey. It doesn't really matter though, I have talked to them and they asked me to return it. They said they will compare it to other smalls they have and if it is way off they can send me another small if I want.

I used to sell jerseys from an official team store and can spot a fake from a mile away. This one is a bit harder to judge since SportsK seems to just be using stock photos on their site, and the stripes on that jersey look rather shiny (could just be the camera though). I agree though that knockoffs don't tend to have the Reebok size patch on them since they are usually marketed as authentics, so your jersey is very likely the real deal. That being said, did you try on an Oilers jersey before you ordered that one or was it a different team? Depending on the jersey style the sizes fit differently. I have Blackhawks and Oilers jerseys with stripes on the sleeves that fit more loosely than my stripe-free Avalanche jersey.

Or it could just be a case of the label being wrong. I've seen that happen with Reebok jerseys more than once too.

SportsK are the real deal for sure. I've only done business with them once, but the vintage Lemieux jersey I bought from them which I got a few weeks ago...looks absolutely amazing.

Here it is:
