Predict the biggest move by a Southern NHL team this Summer.

Almost a guarantee there will be some drama in the south this Summer. You have 4 teams picking in the top 5 in this years draft and a lot of unhappy fan bases.

Nashville-
Carolina-
Dallas-
Florida-
Tampa Bay-

and.. GO!

He would definitely bring size and be an upgrade over SK.

By all accounts Dallas will be making some big moves. Part of the reason Gonchar signed here was because of that promise.

I'll take the injury-risk/decrepit Heatley over the he's-loafing-if-you-notice-him-at-all Kostitsyn.

There's really isn't much I wouldn't take on the team rather than Kostitsyn.

Preds - Trade for Vanek

Carolina - Trade for Yandle

Dallas - They love making a splash in free agency. Bring back Ribeiro and Richards if he is bought out.

Florida - Draft MacKinnon and dance like your grandma's chihuahua

Tampa - Trade their pick for a king's ransom. Something along the lines of all of Calgary's 1st round picks and Feaster's first born child.

I'd want Barry to have lots of input if we make this move.

The 4 previous years Heatley has played 80+ games and going backwards hes put up 21(36 games), 53, 64, 82, 72 points. He will never score 40 goals again but hes only 32 years old and could still most probably hit 60 points for the preds making 5mil real money. If hes fully healthy and wouldn't cost much I think that would actually be a really good aquisition for Nashville. If it doesnt work hes only got 1 more year on his contract anyway.

I don't know if I see Nashville making any really big moves.

They'd like to upgrade the top 6, but I don't see then paying inflated UFA prices for the top 6 forwards that will be available. I think you can attribute alot of the Preds problems to a rediculous spate of injuries in the top 6, they're like to take the pick (Barkov?) and Forsberg and see what happens rather than pay a fortune for a guys like Ribiero/Ryder/Roy/Horton/Etc.

I could see a 2nd pairing defenseman added to play with Klein. I could also expect a couple of prospects or roster players shipped off for a 2nd rounder.

I think Poile likes the team he has when healthy and is not inclined to do anything huge.

Im gonna guess Torts is one of those moves. The other? Im gonna guess Vinny L. I dunno why but I could see him in a Dallas Uni.

Canes trade Skinner for M. Staal.

Sign Stalberg, convert him to D.

Staal-Staal-Staal

Stalberg-Staal

...
Ward.

Dallas signs Tortorella, Richards, Weiss and trades up to the 5th spot and drafts Barkov or Lindholm.

Brett Hull signs 1 year contract, make it to the finals and face Buffalo. GWG shot by Gonchar from the point off of Hull's foot into the goal.

Please, Gonchar followed the dollar bill. Why else would he sign with a team who hasn't made the playoffs since 2008 and had a mini fire sale last year? Dallas isn't a playoff team.

... Maybe the OP should've said "Sunbelt Cities" and removed Nashville from the list of teams
