All the players on our roster are better than Babcock ever were. Guess, Babcock can't teach them anything, eh?

Same with Bowman in 90s

Has a lot more to do with the article claiming Osgood was actually a good puck handler, he was not. He isn't Howard or Hasek bad, but he was average in that regard and made some curious decisions back there. Mrazek is a step above where Osgood was, I am sure he can teach him some things, but Mrazek is very good with the puck already. Which I am super happy about, if this kid ever takes over the number one job, I will honestly never spend another second thinking, please don't do that when he leaves the crease.

Also why Jim Bedard is still around and really the goalie coach. Just having played doesn't make you a great teacher, an asset to the organization? Sure, but remains to be seen what kind of coach/scout/whatever Osgood is at this point. Time will tell, the Paterson pick is said to be heavily influence by Osgood, he worked well with Howard and now is helping Bedard with Mrazek. Would be great if he turned into Sean Burke.

Yeah, gotcha. Agree with that.

I'd love Burke.

well, let`s see, from the top of my head:
Hossa, Radivojevic, Kopecky, Gaborik, Surovy, Zaborsky, Tatar, Hudacek
.
these F`s are locks in my opinion. Marko Dano could be a sure thing too, if he won`t bust this season, since he showed up very well in the WC`s.

Will also predict at least one automatic game suspension for Panik on checking to the head.

I like Panik as a player, just think he is a curious bring to the Olympics and don't see a ton separating him and Jurco. Part of really why Jurco should be invited to a camp, I think he would surprise a lot these days after a slow couple months transitioning to pro hockey he has been on absolute fire.
Don`t get me wrong, I`m a huge fan of Tomas. Panik has two major advantages though - mega chemistry with Tatar (U18, U20...) and he`s more experienced, since he played with the "big boys" before.

I root for Jurco to get at least an invite, but IMO it`s highly unlikely that he gets a spot in the main roster.

^ A lot of that makes sense, would take Jurco before I ever even considered Dano though. That one isn't even close, hell I would take a healthy Tvrdon over Dano. Not impressed with him at all, hoping the Wings don't continue their Slovakia trend in terms of him.

I suspect there won't be a spot for Jurco left, because they won't be taking many youngsters to Sochi. I think for the head coach Tatar and Panik are locks and they will also include Marincin. I would love to see Jurco in the mix though.

Griffins departed for Syracuse today, on board Red Bird III. Glad to see Illitch fly the team out there instead of take a 7 hour bus ride from Grand Rapids.

Tomáš seems to be a pretty popular first name in Slovakia.

Well, it`ll be rather a party, than a training camp tbh

Highlights:
Day1: Signing of the olympic contracts
Day2: a trip with a cable car, a friendly soccer match in the afternoon and a traditional dinner
Day3: tennis tourney and a grill party
Day4: breakfast and... that`s it )

Halak, Dano, Hrivik, Satan & Zaborsky allready excused themselves

Just clearing it up for the non-slovak speaking members

I said this in the GDT but ill say it here, the best part of that cup win is that the griffins are a prospect team not a bunch of AHL vets. They have a couple third liners in Hoggan and Pare (Pare gets some top 6) and Evans as a bottom pairing D and thats pretty much it.

That team was built around the future of Detroit and they just took it to a team that was 11-1 in the playoffs before the series started or something like that.

Tatar was the MVP, scored a bunch of goals (17 I think)

Glendening showed why hes a future wing and is getting a contract soon

Sheahan elevated his offense, Callahan potted 6 goals and a couple goals in the cup clinching game, Ferraro and Jurco were great and of c ourse Mrazek stole some games

I agree with the wings brass, I see probably almost 10 NHLers from this AHL squad with the wings real big wave of prospects just coming their this upcoming season

Thanks Jim Nill. You built this team and the final result came when you were already out of the organization.

What a great great season. Without the lockout, I woudn't have watched these guys that much earlier at season, maybe at all. But those games at start of the season somehow connected me also as a fan in the team that I was interested more of our minor league affiliate than ever.

Championship.

This is rare. Now, what a great feeling.

Threw it up in the GD thread, but might as well here.

Know it is early, but this team has a great shot at repeating. Much like the team they beat tonight, they come back pretty loaded next year, some players will change, but they got a big time #1 at this level and probably in the future at the NHL level and tons of talent coming in to help fill the holes.
