It's funny cause the deal can't be finalized until they have enough cap space. They have to wait till the buy out period opens lol!

Lol ya....well anyways Habs you think figured out Boston,Yet Boston figured out how to get to cup finals and win one and now 2 wins from 2 in 3 yrs...yes Beatdowns are great.....moral victory cup is ours again.Take your beating line a man,put that on the wall eh?

Just like Price figured out how to be good in reg season...then playoffs mental beatdowns..

Facts are too many beat downs ,there all probally concused by now from so many beat downs.....undisgnosed likley, except Bourque,Orr gave him that one confirmed.

Even if they bought him out, he wouldn't come cheap. TML and NYR both could use a potential #1 guy so expect 5-6 years offered at around 6 mil/year.

What sucks is Habs could go toe to toe with Bruins ...I mean bang them around..and be tough
They would go after Chara and nail him....

Habs like won 18 games in a row against the Brujns or something like that..
We had the right path,Then instead of addin few more pieces,Habs blew it up,Bruins add few more...look now..

Habs was so freakin close......instead just back to square one again.

Then they did it again, the year we got to round 3,dummy refeused to add toughness after flyers kick our butt.....then look what hapoens following years.....back to square one...

Vancouver made same mistake...soft skill team, wouldnt add tougness......and the window now is
closing fast for them...maybe already has.

Someone posted in the last thread that Weber and Clutterbuck have similar value.. Seriously? Find that hard to believe.

Yes he is big,but again when the Habs get there yearly beat downs ,he will be in prety tough waters.

Also, he stopped his bangin where did it go vs Bruins???I mean this is who he will be facin if he wears Habs jersey.

I hope .Hawks do resign him.
I think he'd be alright for the right price. He's a big body and is just tougher to play against.

You can move him around the line up too.

Yes,Komoseriek was tough to play against, until Lucic dummied him.

That is my worry for a 4-5 million Bickell on the Habs......reg season the fist are out,on the Habs heads when Bruins or Leafs come to town or we go to there rink.......Bickell is big,but he is no Prust.

Again, see him against Bruins, where is he???Now imagine in reg sesson when there goona come at him.

I guess that just proves that some GMs still haven't learned and probably never will. You can throw Mike Gillis, Paul Holmgren and Glen Sather into that camp.

Weber may have more value because Clutterbuck's QO is 1.6 mil and Minny is in a cap crunch. Weber's QO is around 925-950k.

50-50? VL has scored more than 80 pts twice in his entire career....an absolutely horrendous contract...for another 8-9 yrs? If he was bought out, and would sign for 2-3 yrs on the cheap the Habs might think about it...might...

I'm not sure he'd have more value or if that's the right deal as I'm not exactly in tune with the Wild's needs. DAL 3rd + Ellis? Or are they looking for NHL players like Weber?

You're right the regular season is meaningless, just go tell the 14 teams that missed out.

No i like Price....and a fan of his....but as in said no excuses...

26 yr old Tukka Rask 138 reg season games,21-11 in playoffs ....

Anyways,i said last year on the record,i felt Habs should have traded Price..

I also said before his 6million contract, that it was goona crash down on him in Montreal havin to try to live up to 6 plus mill.I still feel the same, and his remarks after the playoffs, seem to point to me being on the right path.....

Habs are flirting with Loungo /Theodore part 2

He's a good goalie, but Montreal got him burnt in the mind, thats danger signs.

We wss offered Ilya Kovalchuck for Theodore..never took it...

We ended up with garbage return...

Were about 82 games away from it happening again. Imho..

Round one exits are a disgrace....
This is Montreal ,not Columbus

For me a round one exit is not makin playoffs,it's a joke.,This teams sucked so long, people got soft in the head, just accepting losing.

Horray we made round one.....and get beat out.....the record of 20 yrs.

Anyways,i expect big things this offseason....it's the first chance MB and staff get to put a stamp on this.

While I was a big fan of Laraque back when he played for Edmonton and Pittsburgh, I was greatly disappointed by "his code" when he was in Montreal. The Habs need someone with Prust's attitude, but who's bigger than him. They also need someone who can play some hockey and BGL has passed that time. Big no as far as I'm concerned.

Lots of people talking about Lecavalier... I'll go on record in saying that I'd be shocked if the Lightning bought him out... this summer. Teams have two years to decide on buyouts and Tampa will cross that bridge next summer. Having said that, I dislike Vinny's contract, not the player. So I wouldn't definitely consider signing him at the right price if he gets bought out.

The same goes for Brad Richards. I believe that he'll be given another year to prove himself now that Tortorella is gone.

It's a 30 team league, not a 6 or 21 team, league. Like it or not the Habs or anybody else won't win 4-5 cups in a decade. Boston will be called a "dynasty" if they win 2 of 3.

MB and his staff started putting their stamp on the team a year ago and it will just continue this summer. Smart GM's don't move half the roster in one off season, they do it patiently, one move at a time when the timing is right.

Considering Diaz is an impending UFA with just over 20 career NHL games of playing ~20min/game wouldn't be surprised if the Wild say the exact same thing except joke 'Let's throw in Grandlund while we're at it'.

Roger Millions has a quote from Corbin Knight who just signed with Calgary he said this today, "night adds that Danny Kristo his UND teammate could surprise next Sunday in Newark". What does that mean?
