Better read the rules cause you gotta live within 100 miles of Dallas. Not sure why if they are trying to expand their fan base. At a minimum should include all of Texas

I was more pointing out that you can't buy individual tickets to that game rather than the contest.

Oh Ok I gotcha. Not trolling. Just wanted to let others know that it is a locals only contest which I consider to be BS! How can you talk about expanding the brand and limit tickets for games to locals? Makes no sense!

Yep. Big mistake, IMO. People who are savvy will just pick the tickets up and re-sell them to people who are the hardcore fans from out of state or cannot afford a big ticket plan. You're alienating a large part of your fan base.

Poor money grab to gain an incentive for buying a package.

As a STH I have no problem with this, it adds value to my package. I see no reason this should be an issue if they can fill the house this way. The more you invest in the team the more you should be rewarded. That being said I don't want a half full barn.

I respect that. But considering there isn't capacity full of STHs there will be some people who will buy the 9 game package, go to 8 and sell this game off to a higher bid to offset their costs. Which is capitalistic and fine but it does alienate part of your fan base who don't reside in the Dallas area.

I doubt it will be a half full barn, and I'm OK with the notion of investing = reward but to deny fans any chance other than 9 tickets for those who can't afford or can't buy a package is just exploitation.

It makes perfect sense. This is the night Tom Gaglardi will use to hook new fans on the game and maybe bring back some old ones with a little bit of nostalgia and some good feelings. He isn't interested in some guy coming from out of town, that person isn't a return customer. He's trying to build up the fanbase in Dallas and he needs to make sure this event will get more people hooked. You don't want some random wings fan applying for it while living in Michigan, there's a horrible image no one wants. My guess is the winner will be getting a little bit of press coverage for good publicity.

Underrated comedy.

What's the market rate for an individual ticket to this? What would those of you who aren't STH shell out to be upstairs, back row, along the sides? $100? More? Less?

Would have loved to be there for his final game, but I'll watch this one on TV ...

Nice, hopefully they'll make a t-shirt with the logo.

I snagged 2 tickets to this in the lower bowl so I'm headed to Texas in March with my father. I can't believe I'm going. I wasn't going to post on the boards until the season started but shiftwork has me bored.. especially when I have to stay up for nights.

Wouldn't be surprised if my dad dons a Modano #90 Wings jersey just to spite me (he won't... hopefully)

Personally don't find anything wrong with it.

My season tickets finally mean something, other than getting to sit next to people who got their tickets for free.

What I'm getting at, is that tickets will be near impossible to get in 2's, and big groups are basically out of the question.
All I got out of that is that there will be lots of college girls there.

I'm heading down from Alberta. I watched his draft when I was a kid (already a North Stars fan) and I aint missing this. May be by myself, may be with my sis; a buddy; or my wife (maybe not now that there will be college girls), but I'm there regardless.

Pro tip of the day: Buy stock in Kleenex. Not because of the college girls you sickos.
