Bolland hasn't been great since the 4 games against the Nucks... That's a long time with him needing a new contract and playing not to the level he can. POs will show us his future

My crystal ball tells me that some minds in this thread are about to change in the coming weeks. The rat is the kind of guy that is money in the playoffs, the kind you need to win.

I do think that he is miscast by the hawks' coaching staff into a 2c though. He is a VERY good 3c with offensive upside. I can't blame Bolly for that. I blame a coaching staff who has him in the wrong allotment+a GM who has not gotten us a legit 2c.

Maybe we should just rest him all season and let him loose in the playoffs??

I wasn't talking about the PHX series, I was talking about ALL of last season.

As for his role on the PK, your grasping at straws. The problem with our PK was the system, not the players.

Bolland has played PK this year and is as good at doing it as everybody else.

Oh, so he was hurt, I guess? It's a rare kind of MCL sprain that only acts up when he's expected to forecheck.

He wasn't exceptional in any role all of last season. He had some hot streaks and some extended terrible streaks. Both ends of the ice.

It was in response following a post using +/-. Both lead to different conclusions on their own and neither should mean anything without full context and details. For example, I agree he's had some poor linemates, but he has also had one of the best defensive pairs (in all areas) on the ice with him matching up against top offensive groups for years too.

Bolland has a big enough sample size to state what he his through 7 professional seasons. He's a very good defensive player, limited but respectable offensive upside, inconsistent, injury plagued with a good postseason results.

Game 1, they did fine without him. Still rather would see him on the ice over Bollig

I'm not a fan of Bollig at all, but when Konopka is on the roster, I think you have to have Bollig out there. If it was just Rupp, I don't want Bollig out there, but since it was Rupp and Konopka, it was one of the rare times I agreed with the decision.

The win buys more time for Bolland to get back to 100%. I don't want him brought back too soon.

we need him on the ice and sitting Bollig for him would be, you know, make the team better

No, he wasn't "exceptional" but he was a damn good 3rd line C last year.

Bolland is what he is, a 3rd line C who can pot a goal or an assist every other game (on avg). This year is not the norm for him, at all.

If it happens again next year, then I'll believe it.
But, if he's forced into a 2nd line C position again, instead of his suited role (#3C)..i'll still take it with a grain of salt.

He was an absolute embarrassment last night and his playoff performance to date has been terrible (So you Bolland fans can stop with the playoff warrior myth)

Guy is done ,, Send him away because at this point he is waste of roster space and cap room

It's hard to argue in Bolland's defense after yesterday. His play seemed selfish and he didn't put the team first.

This is correct. I said this last night. He pulled the same crap in Game 2 of the Detroit series.

Ya, I could careless about Bolland now. Thought he was turning it around in the LA series, only to revert back to his old self in this series outside of Game 1.

I don't think he is a waste of a roster spot, but he is definitely not worth 3+ mil.

With the declining salary cap, he would be hard to trade.

If Bolland does not show up for Game 4, then I seriously doubt the Blackhawks will re-sign the former "playoff warrior" when his contract expires.

If that's true, then I hope he's gone before Gary hands out the big cup. I don't think that many teams will be that interested.

3.375 is still a big chunk of change. Budget teams won't want that cap hit because of the injury risk unless Chicago takes a bad contract in return, and the teams hugging the cap aren't going to see the value in Bolland until they take an injury for themselves. His ceiling was established a long time ago and his floor is still dropping.

I don't think the Hawks get anything nice for him. He'll have to be dumped and I don't think there will be more than 6 interested teams offering better than a pick outside of the top 50 for him.

Yeah, I'm guessing that he could be an attractive piece for teams trying to get to the cap floor.

Or, who knows? Maybe there are a few teams' pro scouts who like something about him.

He hasn't played second line center since the playoffs started so hes not miscast he has been playing bad, and taking dumb penalties and all that Ratness he gives you does nothing if he is playing like a tool which he is.. Hes lucky he didnt get 2 Unsportsmanlike penalties in game 3.

A top 50 pick would be nice for a guy going into the last year of his deal.
