Would be a good move for Pittsburgh, depending on what they get in return. Letang still has many years to get back to basics and become the top D-man he can be, but right now Pittsburgh has to look at their cap situation and look for alternatives.

Although unlikely, I would not put it past Shero to trade Letang for something like, say, the third overall pick. Sure, sounds like fiction, but I actually wouldn't be surprised.

If it's Anaheim, John Gibson would indeed be the main target. Only problem I can foresee is with regards to the cap, since Anaheim already has big money on a couple of guys, although I am no expert on their options as of this second.

i think the Pens should at least entertain the thought of re-signing him, but he got paid too much to be a bottom-pair defenseman.

I read that Letang's agent is from Boston and that Shero is meeting him there tomorrow.

We will know what's really going on after that meeting tomorrow.

Probably can't fit him/afford him, but that's someone the Rangers would genuinely be improved by adding. We've got defense and goaltending. We don't have a PP guy with a RH shot.

Question for Pens fans. Is Rossi to you what Pannaccio is to us Flyers fans?

Reading that article made me remember how much I hate the way Rossi writes. Just terrible.

We might actually think less of Rossi than Flyers fans think of Panaccio.

according to Josh Yohe (although he might just be fanning the Full-Rossi flames), he speculates that the chance of Letang getting traded is about 60/40

Trust me: Letang is a lot of things offensively. Excellent puck mover, crisp passer (when there isn't anyone in the way, of course), highly skilled. He is not a PP QB. His decision-making on the PP is, at time, embarrassingly bad. Look for PP QB elsewhere in my opinion.

If you guys don't trust Rossi, here's the TSN crew on the subject:

probably someone out west. I definitely can not see the pens trading him within the division

if JT Miller is not involved, its probably a no-go from the Pens POV. Not saying the same deal +Miller but I would think they would want Miller involved

Philly lol. Where would Philly get the $ to sign him to the contract he wants and you really think Shero would trade Letang to our biggest rival?

Well we have speculated before that they are each other's sources

Letang won't be traded within the division.

He begins three sentences in a row with, "that is true because..."

Can't figure out any other ways to back up his thoughts? This is on Tim Panotch's writing level for sure.

I'd want Letang from an SJ perspective but we're not really ideal trading partners.

Letang + Glass

Edler + Kassian/Jensen + 2014 1st + conditional 2014 3rd (4th if no re-sign)

I only make a proposal because I know Letang's connection with Luc Bourdon and I feel Vancouver could be a good fit for him. We already lost out on Weber.

Letang for just the 3rd overall pick? That's a horrible trade for the Pens.

Last year, they got an 8th overall pick, a very good defense prospect, and a former 1st round top 15 pick that should grow into a damn solid pivot behind Sid & Geno as the #1 and #2 C's.

Letang, some how....goes for less than Jordan Staal?

PMD's are still a huge target. Especially young ones that can be around for a long time, Letang is better than people give him credit for here.

I wouldn't call getting an elite prospect "horrible"... especially one that is good enough to play in the NHL this coming season...

I would love this trade, Jensen over Kassian though, most definitely. The rest is gravy by me. I'm a fan of Edler's, the guy is solid as hell and definitely a defenseman I would want Despres learning from.

Letan's Possible Destinations?

Pittsburgh news has reported speculation that Kristopher is on his way out.
I would like to get other fellow hockey fans opinions on this however, I would like a real offer for what he is worth after you read this article not before. This is a real thread not like the other, i want only trade ideas pleases.

Shero is bold, I'm curious yet scared.
