One of those 11 goals was an empty netter.

I think the disturbing aspect of our offense is only 2 goals in each of the last 3 games.

I don't care how many posts he's hit in shootouts, Kovalev should still be one of our 3 choices every game. Nobody on the team is as good as with the puck as Kovalev.

For those at the game, I liked the "24" theme they had...

They had the timer, like in 24, going till 19:00:00 and then it has the intro to 24, except it says 25. And then Jack Bauer comes on and says something in French (I didn't hear...But he is from Montreal isn't he?).

did you guys see what his full name is???

Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland

i'll take a page out of Francois Perusse here: "In.croy.able. Il doit trainer son permis de conduire dans un cartable."

And btw, it's his father that was born in Canada (NS). I do believe that they are both very fond of montreal though. The father especially.

He's married to some lady named Francine Racette...

He didn't grow up in England, he grew up in Canada. And he's more of a Torontonian than Montrealer, though the Sutherland family has a home in the eastern townships.

Decent result. I'll take the point.

As much as some think we didnt deserve it, i wouldnt say Ottawa deserved it either.

They did score 2 goals in the 1st and pretty much disapear the rest of the game. Ottawa playing defensive hockey with a 1 goal lead going into the 3rd ???? I will have see everything.

We used to be happy with only 2 goals allow and a 2-1 lost against Ottawa, calling it a close game. Not anymore, we can definitely play with this team and not look stupid AT ALL, which is another good new.
___________

Huet missed the first goal, but to his defense. You cant ask your goalie to keep his pad on the post for a good 5+ seconds with the puck right in the crease. Count 1-2-3 and the puck should be out of there, if not the goalie is exposed in the upper corner and on 1 side. Not a bad game, but i though Ottawa didnt do much offensively after the 2 goals.

And now, Let's get a 25 th Stanley Cup!

Will Samsonov and Johnson account for 36 goals this year? I'm not so sure. And I'm not saying I was sad to see Bulis and Zednik go either. It was their time.

Other than the trades to swap forwards our Habs are banking on the youngsters to produce (Latendresse, Kostitsyn, Perezhogin, etc.) . I like Perezhogin, but he's just not meshing, much like last year.
Why not? If each scores only 1 goal every 4 games, they'll exceed it. Extrapolate their results in the first 4 games and you'll arrive at 41 goals. Moreover, I expect at least Samsonov to pick up his pace (as well as Kovalev and Plekanec). It would be nice if the 4th line and the other members of the 3rd line chipped in an occasional goal. Of course, the 1st line is far ahead of last season's pace.

I was at the game yesterday. I was right behind the home net (for 2 periods)... And I'd like to say that the Souray - Rivet duo really sucks. They are not effective together. They are good players, but they shouldn't play on the same duo.

The 2nd line is kinda weird. It's like an Oleg Petrov's line.. They go deep, near the net, but nobody shoots and they wait for the perfect play.. Nobody goes pick the puck in the corners. The only issue, IMO is to put Latendresse or Perezhogin with Kovalev and Plekanec. Perezhogin will become a good player, and he would be even better if he goes in the corners win some battles?

The Sens did what they have to do. They got 1 penalty, that's amazing.

Kovalev was double shifting with Begin and Latendresse when Downey was serving his 10 minutes.

The crowd went absolutely nuts when it went to "25."

I LOVED IT.

His mother in law (his dad's wife since a long, long time) is from Quebec, His dad, Donald still has a home in the Eastern Township. So, he might had spent a bit of time in Quebec during his childhood.

I'm sure he'd have scored...but anyways...you don't bench a guy who has a lethal shot and amazing hands in a shootout...seriously that's a big mistake.

I think Aebischer will end up starting the next game, and will have every opportunity to further make a stand to be the #1 goalie.

I think we have back to back games coming up with calgary and chicago... correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm almost certain that the goalies will split these games

I think it would be more practical to start Abby in the Flames game seeing as he's played them so many times.

But then again, he's also played Chicago, and neither one of them has faced Marty Havlat seeing as he was injured for a whole season...

Well, this is why I'm not the coach

Flawless game from Niinimaa without the second penalty. Good skating, positioning, defensive play and passing.
