That's what I mean. The price may not necessarily start too high, but the price will be driven up when nutso-Holmgren, the Oil, and a number of other teams get involved.

I'd be willing to toss a decent offer, though. I think he'd be our best bottom sixer.

Apparently Kings fans are speculating they could buy out Mitchell and keep Scuderi to save cap...That's an intriguing option, doubt it happens though.

It is so funny to read you guys

Realistically: while DP runs the ship there will not be any significant UFA signed to make any noise.

why do you say this?

in the past, when ownership has given him the money, he has done exactly that (Karyia, Arnott, Dumont)

You have Peka, Webs, Wilson, Josi, Horny, and FF for a long time now signed. Nashville is close, has a great growing fan base, and a great place to live to boot. You have a chance to bring the cup to Nashville for the first time. The game has changed in Smashville folks.

Good point. Money is one thing. Poile spending it on a player he thinks fits the system is something else.

I just have a bad feeling about DP and UFA...

Although it might be in our favor that cap is goin down, manybags will have to cut down.

Briere is going to be bought out, good fit? Pass?

Big time pass. No way he would fit in with the Predator way.

yeah, a history of leadership, guts, and playoff success has no place in Nashville

declining skill set, maybe, but still worth 2-3 million and a good for 10 ES min a game and plug him in on the PP

I think he was speaking more to the history of floating, zero defense, not trying in the regular season of late and a skillset that seems to be declining rapidly...

you don't make an NHL roster floating, playing zero defense and having a terrible skillset. now does he skate as hard as he can 100% f the time, probably not, but show me one player who does and I bet you can find film of him floating watching the play. As far as the defense-Steve Sullivan was allergic to the defensive zone and he was just fine here.

if the price is right, he is worth the risk

agree with token.. if the price is reasonable, you make an offer. it would be a nice infusion of skill ES and on the PP with briere

If he and Trotz can get along and play nice, he would walk in the door day 1 as our best sniper, certainly this year and maybe in Predator's history.

Nooooooooooo. No No No No No No No.

This is a guy that is on a team in the Finals and can hardly get in the game. How many games has he been scratched for during the playoffs? He's fast, I get it. He's got some skill. I get it. Does he have any grit to his game? Does he have the ability to play playoff style hockey. Quenneville doesn't think so. I am dead against Stalberg as a possibility. There are rookies and young players of him playing bigger minutes. He is not an answer. He is just more of the same.

People want guys from this free agent class and this is one of the worst I've ever seen. We're better off letting the young players develop and give them minutes as opposed to overpaying for anyone out there who is basically what we already have a ton of, second and third liners.

I think he needs a change of scenery. We scratched Wilson in the playoffs for two years do you not approve of him being on the roster?

Yes, he really has. Was solid that first year in SJ, but hasn't been the same player since, regardless of point totals.

If we sign ufa buyout, I would say go after Brad Richards.

Also curious,
If free agency still
July first this season?? Someone I heard say it was July fifth, is that true??
