Michael Cammalleri has requested a Trade

Quote:
Roger Millions ‏@RogMillions 46m
Bryan Murray says he's looking for atop 6 forward. If Mike Cammalleri wants out of #Flames, is there a match. 1 YR. 6 Mill left on his deal

Book O' Floob ‏@bookofloob 43m
@RogMillions just curious, has he expressed a desire to leave? (I'd understand if he wanted out, just hadn't heard anything)

Roger Millions ‏@RogMillions 40m
@bookofloob That is my understanding.
Assuming this is true. What would he be worth to your team, at the draft?

What if the Flames retain half his current salary (3.5M)? (Roger is off by 1M).

Flames would be looking for, picks, prospects and/or a youngish roster player.

I just want to add that I don't think he requested a trade per se, but I think it is probable that the organization asked if he wanted to be moved.

I just know that if I were running a team that was rebuilding I would want to know the mindset of all my players and move those that I felt wouldn't have the right attitude for a rebuild.

I thought this was just pure speculation because when Feaster was asked a few days ago if Tanguay or Cammy had asked to be traded, he said he could neither confirm or deny it?
I'm not so sure he has right forward asked for a trade. Probably just like any other aging player would prefer to not be in a rebuild for the next 4 years.

Sens better be all over this one.

As much as I love having Greening and Condra as top six forwards...

Ottawa would be a great fit for him.

Cammi has an excellent one-timer and Speeza is one of the best at finding his winger in the slot for one-timers (like he use to do with Heatley).

Thats why it has a Rumor prefix.

Either way, im interested to see what we could get for him, and thats the main point of this thread. If a mod want's to tweak the title thats fine.

His favorite team is the Leafs, maybe he wants to go there. He still owns his pad in LA, which he says he loves, maybe he could go to the Ducks? The Kings definitely don't have the cap space for him, though the team could use him, Dean Lombardi would never give him a sniff again after that contract process. I don't think he has any contract clauses, does he?

I would imagine at that price there would be reasonable interest in him. Plenty of offensively challenged teams, even among current contenders. Hope it works out for Calgary and him.

What would be a probable deal from a sens perspective? We would want young players/prospects and I would assume be willing to take on some salary if needed

That would be a good fit.

If we ate half his cap hit, would Ceci be on the table?

Would Calgary be willing to retain some of his cap/money? Feel like Detroit should give em a call

Im speculating we might, but its hard to say. Management has not really indicated one way or the other. If the return is right, I could see it though as its only 1 year.

Not for 1yr of Cammy. Quite frankly, we don't even need you to eat that much, we have the cap space, its just about how much Melnyk wants to pay

...Thats assuming we eat some of his salary which is $7M I believe.

Grabovski + 2nd would be intriguing to me if we aren't eating any.

Could a deal involving Pittsburgh for Letang if they retained 50% of Cammalleri's cap hit work?

What about a deal Cammy for Gravovski +. Obviously the leafs would have to add but if you the leads wanted to get rid of Grabovskis salary and we retain no salary on Cammy.

I think Cammalleri would be a great fit in Ottawa too.

I don't see the point in retaining any salary though. Sens have 19 players signed with 18M in cap space and Wiercioch & Condra our the RFA's.

Is there something Calgary needs specifically?
Ottawa's prospect depth probably leans more heavily to the forward side.

Id be less than thrilled with that, I think we could probably get a 2nd + Prospect though.

Would you do something around Puempel or Stone?
