If a deal that big was going down, and Feaster granted NJ permission to negotiate with Cammy, and he agreed to reasonable terms. Would you pull the trigger?

he produced at a higher rate this season than last and in 72 games since rejoining the Flames he had 24 goals and 51 points. Plus he has always been a playoff performer

Not hating on Cammy but I think his best days are clearly behind him. Habs got rid of him at the right time.

Getting rid of Volchy? NJ would be thrilled. They'd send Volchenkov for free, nevermind getting Cammy, they'd be estatic.

Strictly an offensive player and really not that effective without space. His linemates would have to compensate. I would pass without hesitation.

The 6M cap hit, and 7M in real dollar kills his value, he is probaly worth a roster player, and 2-3 pick or prospect.

If I'm the Flames, just hold on to him, and tell him you will trade him to a contender at the deadline, he might not be worth it now, but during the trade deadline, when its easier to trade a 6M dollar player, I think you can get a late first round pick for Cammy.

Cammy would make a perfect fit for the Islanders, but no way they touch that salary

throw in a conditional 2nd in 2015 (to NJ from CGY) if Cammalleri does not re-sign, gives the Devils some insurance.

so that would be

22nd, 28th, Cond. 2nd in 2015 & Cammalleri for the 9th and Volchenkov

Couldn't agree more.

He's in a contract year, and will likely produce good numbers. I could see him easily landing a 2014 1st rounder. We just have to be patient.

Tanguay should/will likely be moved at the draft... Less value, though.

If he has requested a trade I don't want to keep him around even if it means a lesser deal. Having someone that doesn't want to be there apart of a rebuild is not a good idea.

I was going to add this also, telling Cammy you won't trade him until the deadline, he'll just not care during the season, but IMO even a struggling Cammy at the trade deadline, on an expiring contract should have good value.

I just don't think many teams are interested in him now, with that cap hit.

But I guess if you want to bring up a lot of young players, an unhappy Cammy isn't the best to have them around and might as well take a lesser deal than you could later on.

Not even concerned about that really. Calgary could use an extra depth guy in the short term on the backend. If thats what it takes throw him in.

I'd trade Grabovski for him. No picks/prospects. Dump for dump. Grabo is longer term, but Calgary could use a semi-decent player or two instead of throwing rookies into highpressure roles.

Cammy isn't a cap dump, you should really read the thread.

I'd be interested in either one of Cammalleri or Tanguay on the Canucks.

Tanguay probably makes a bit more sense given we could use the cap space. Booth + 2014 2nd was something that was agreed upon in the past.

Cammalleri is a better player and has a better contract.

Not a chance in hell they would be traded one for one

What is this, the third time Cammalleri has requested a trade now? He did it in LA, Montreal, and now Calgary. Ship him off to hockey purgatory: Phoenix.

Don't know about LA but I don't think he requested a trade in Montreal. Pretty sure he got shipped off in some kneejerk reaction by the GM after he called the team a bunch of losers.

He said the team played like losers, I don't think he requested a trade though.

Da Costa, Petersson and our 4th rounder this year for Cammaleri. No chance Stone or Ceci are on the table for this trade involving just Cammaleri

My ideal trade with Calgary would include Giordano + Cammaleri and look something like this.

To Ottawa
Mike Cammaleri
Mark Girodano

To Calgary
Patrick Wiercoich/Ceci(Wiercoich is closer to NHL ready)
Matt Pumpel
Stephan Da Costa
Andre Petersson
1st rounder in 2013(17th)

I think this is a fair trade as you get a future top 4 in Wiercoich, a future second liner in Puempel, then you 2 future 3rd liners both of which have potential to be 2nd liners in Da Costa and Petersson. Then the 1st round pick which should be a fututre 2nd liner or top 4 defender. This trade would help Calgary even more with there rebuild and give them 4 draft picks in the 1st round of this year very deep draft.

eh, I don't know. I would think the Devils would like to take the best forward available at #9 to help stock the farm system since we are thin there.

well, we'd also be giving up the 9th overall pick, so...

tempting. but I probably couldnt do it.

not saying it isn't fair value though
