If I was trading Kristo I'd want either the #22 or #28 + a bit or one of Calgary's d prospects. Why would we want someone in their 30's, I sure don't. I'm more interested in trades that help us build a good young team and Glencross doesn't help us in that task.

Lol.

If you know of any other Gritty two-way forwards that can score at a 30 goal pace on a 2.5M contract, that would be available for Kristo id love to know. Thats alright, you keep Kristo.

OK, so no interest in big defensive prospects. Would you consider:

Burish + 1st (20th overall) for Kristo + 2nd (34th)

we need younger players tt, we most likely wont be a serious contender for another 3-4 years and by that time alot of the current midd-aged players would only have 1-2 good years left in them

Glencross us closer to a sniper than he is a grinder. Great release, relentless effort, heart-and-should kind of player. He's pretty much not going anywhere (not to mention the 2.55 million/yr deal he signed).

Not interested in giving up the 28th for Kristo. If the Habs like him so much they can keep him.

Habs have all kinds of interest in Big defensive prospects; just that we have them in the system, those Dmen with very little upside, except for being big and defensive (see Greg Pateryn reference)...and no interest in Burish, I don't believe...I could see Kristo + #71 (3rd we got from Dallas) or maybe even #55, if Bergevin hasn't had his morning java fix, for San Jose's #20, but that's about it, unless we start talking big packages...

I don't want to Hijack Calgary's thread, but I would be interested in a bigger deal if you had one in mind (that did not touch couture, burns, niemi or vlasic). You want to propose something in another thread?

30 year old Burish had been mentioned in another thread few weeks back that could be of interest to Habs for your 4th line (PK specialist with some speed and grit). Some of your fanbase would consider adding him. No interest, no worries

I honestly couldn't come up with anything that would be of any real value to either side without adding one or more of each of our core players...I don't think we make good trading partners for the really big deals, honestly...

Maybe he doesn't like the Habs. Montreal is not for everyone and his buddy just signed here. I wouldn't offer them a 1st unless a 2nd was coming back our way. Let them sweat the signing, just like we will with Gaudreau, Arnold and Agostino. I bet Anaheim wishes they had got something for Schultz. If a prospect won't sign, he's not worth market value. We saw that first hand with Erixon and Knight was worth a 2nd. We got him for a 4th.

Hasn't he already signed with the MTL? He played 9 games for Hamilton.

OK, medium size deals?

Gionta + Kristo for Havlat + Sheppard + (either Sharks retain 1M of Havlat's cap, or provide a conditional 2nd on Havlat playing 70+ games for you over next two years)?

Signed a 2 years contract last year so no problem about it. MTL isn't shopping him. It's pure speculation about the tweet and Knight....

Thing is Calgary is also trying to build a good young team. Don't get me wrong I'd prefer a 1st rounder (pick #22) but I wouldn't say no to Glencross. I don't see him leaving I believe he extended and wants to stay there

Sheppard would have to have improved an awful lot in the last year or two for me to have any interest in him but I haven't been following him, so I guess the question how has his game been doing?

Ah, nevermind then. I'm a moron.... I wouldn't look at him then. Montreal will rightly want a late 1st for him which just isn't good value.

Bang on. Glencross isn't going anywhere. He wants to stay on his ranch and took way less on the contract to do it. Feaster said he was offered incredible packages for Glencross and Giordano at the deadline and wouldn't bite.

This can mean many things but one possibility is a trade to reunite the two players. Calgary is rebuilding and Kristo is a good young player that has chemistry with Knight.

What would Calgary give up for Kristo?
Sounds like done deal for Knight to put a day on it. Maybe Flames had to acquire his buddy to get Knight to sign?

Verdict is still out on Shep. He has fully healed, but this no camp shortened season did not help him get his game back. He is at the moment a 3rd/4th line tweener (is that a sub-tweener?) He plays well enough to not be a liability, but needs to improve alot to reach his 1st round pick potential.

Strength of this offer was how much you would value Havlat. I am sensing not enough to trade kristo.

New option:

Danny Kristo and 34th overall for 20th overall and a 2014 2nd. You upgrade alot (14 places in a strong draft) in this draft, and pick up another 2nd next year.

I think you're off your rocker
Being a Hobey Baker finalist doesn't make him worth a first

Value is there, but Habs would want a player back with the 2013 pick, not a 2014 pick...how's Max Gaede's game coming, he could work...

Are people honestly trying to argue that Danny Kristo is more valuable than Curtis Glencross?

C'mon people, get real.

Two players that Habs would love having and that they can realistically trade up for:

Anthony Mantha (expected to go (10-15) and Samuel Morin (20-30).

I would expect if we are talking of Kristo, he would be packaged with one of the Habs' 2nd picks and traded up for a 10-15th pick. This is risky though as I feel hat Kristo is NHL-ready, while a mid 1st round pick remains strictly potential, but the Habs absolutely need to beef up (and with talent). Both Mantha and Morin fit that bill.
