Briere to be bought out:

http://www.csnphilly.com/hockey-phil...-be-bought-out

And Holmgren says nothing is decided regarding Bryz... He's not happy about Bryz's agent breaking out the info.

Can't they just put Pronger on LTIR and be OK? Or he retires?

To contiue the previous conversation, I think from now on, we wont see many players except goalies to win the Conn Smythe. If the Bruins win the cup, Rask will probably win it.. And Crawford if Chicago comes back. The goalie stats are getting ridiculous.

A player can't just be on LITR permanently. He has to be approved and checked up every so-and-so times by a doctor and be told that he's not fit to play/practice for at least 10 days. Pronger won't be playing until his PCS clears up, and even then he won't want to risk permanent brain damage but he won't just give up 4.5m a year AND hurt the flyers' cap. So he's going to stay around, report to medical every summer, get checked up and then fly back to St Louis and live with his family. Best of a bad situation and an undignified end to a glittering career but what can you do?

And for the record, the second post in this thread was not in my own words and was edited by a yet-unconvicted third party. I'll be reporting it to the administrator-formerly-known-as-CrimsonSkorpion immediately. This aggression will not stand. Moderate abuse, when unchecked, can lead to delusions of grandeur and hurt forum morale - as we can see with overlords editing every post in the Hall of Fame thread to include himself, the man's methods have clearly become unsound, insane even.

Goalie stats are ridiculous because interference, clutching and grabbing aren't getting called. Honestly, you could count the scoring chances for both teams last game on one hand.

Yeah game 3 wasn't a very exciting game to watch.. Not to take anything away from Rask's play in these playoffs since he's been very good but most of the Bruins games I've watched he hasn't had to make all that many tough saves IMO.. He's facing lots of shots but most are fairly easy saves with no one in his face.

The Bruins team in front of Rask are doing a very fine job of eliminating players from getting prime scoring chances and keeping Rask's crease cleared.

You're a loose cannon, W7.

The Bruins already neutralized the speed AND talent of Pittsburgh with their obstruction and hooking.

And they are in the process of doing the same to Chicago.

Speed is irrelevant when you have a stick on your hands and around your waist. Passing become a difficult process when the person you are passing it to is already being held.

Speed (and even skill as shown with Malkin and Crosby) cannot defeat the Bruins game as long as they are allowed to get away with what they are doing.

I don't think speed is irrelevant. But yup, you have to have guys who are willing and able battle through the tight D. Only so far you can run when in a small area of the ice clogged with guys committed to playing D. It's good to have both, speed and strength.

With free agency looming, Devils GM Lou Lamoriello still trying to get deal done with Clarkson. Didn't sound interested in trading rights.

I don't think they are getting away with too much that's out of the ordinary. There is always more holding in the POs. That's one of the reasons Hal Gill was actually more useful in the playoffs.

I hate the Bruins but half the things I want to say about the town, or team would get me banned and the other half would affect my place in heaven.
