TO wanting a 1C back for Gardiner (as a starter) is funny, not too mention that you seem to think you're Nonis.

The 7th pick is likely not ready to step in so we would be worse off immediately losing a top 4 D
Yeh no thanks to Franson at all

I wonder if it could be as simple as say a Brad Ross or a Carter Ashton. Someone Eakins has worked with on the Marlies, but might be squeezed out of Toronto due to depth on the wings..

If Nonis would actually consider moving Gardiner for the 7th, which i doubt

Gardiner + 21 for 7 + 37 ---> draft Gauthier, Rychel, Hartman, etc

Make a package of Eberle and Petry and look for a bonafide #1 dman

Shea Weber for Eberle, Petry, Klefbom ---> give and take from there, add next years 1st if you need to

Build a proper D around Weber, Gardiner, Schultz, and Smid with three 1st overall picks still in our forward group. Then we can look at options for the bottom 6 in the defense group instead of looking for top 4 dmen and hope Marincin turns out to be a better player than Klefbom.

Would never happen tho and I still dont like splitting up our Sedin twins (hall and ebs)

Bob Stauffer keeps saying that he expects Edmonton to acquire a 24-25 year old centre that is about to make the jump to the NHL. Any centerman on the Marlies that this fits?

Joe Colborne is a 6'5" 213 Ilb center on the Marlies and is 23...

So #21 and Gardiner for Gagner? He will be our #1C at the start of the season.

Eakins knows him to. Had a rough year in AHL last year and half but turned it on last half of this year.

Maybe Gardiner + Colbourne for 7th + w/e. since Eakins is familair with both

Craig MacTavish said teams right now more willing to shop 2nd-round picks in draft rather than 1st. Called them the currency of choice.

Well well well

Maybe they would do something like Colborne + 3rd rounder for Hemsky (with us retaining part of his salary)

Wonder if one of the two deals is a Horcoff/Hemsky deal.

I hope not, Colborne is too slow. He isn't a NHL player IMO.

If David Clarkson doesn't re-sign with Devils, expect every team in the East with cap space to go after him. Word is, he wants to stay East.
Well ****.

I'm going to piece all of this info together and say that Hemsky will be traded to the leafs for Colborne and a 2nd rounder, with us retaining half of Hemsky's salary. Colborne would end up being a 4th/5th center on our depth chart to start the year

He's big, physical and adds a scoring touch but he's never had anything higher than 46 points. This season he started out great, and from about the half way mark of the season completely tailed off. Not to mention, he's a RW and Devils fans think he's one of the dumbest players on their team.

meh, I wouldn't be upset if that deal happens.

I'll be nostalgic when Hemmer gets traded though. When he was good, he was damn good.
