Polak is a player I've wanted to see in Oilers silks for a very long time, and I've long felt that he was one of the league's more underrated defensemen. With that said, Gagner is simply too much to give up for a defensive defenseman.

I could see Oilers offering up #7 + Klefbom/Petry + 2nd rounder for Letang

I love these threads

"All of our valuable pieces are untouchable, including high draft picks, and our somewhat valuable pieces can only be had all packaged together for a Star player...so what will our table scraps get us?"

Oh dear lord

ranger fan here, we are in a win now mode so while your 2nd wouldnt be bad for boyle the only way i see him being moved to you is in a bigger deal for eberle something like
mdz+boyle+miller for eberle and n shultz
but im not sure if you would do that.
supposively you guys like del zotto so what would you give up for him?

I would do something like;

7th overall + N. Schultz + Musil + Lander for MDZ + Miller + Boyle

Maybe, but it sounds like Klefbom is the golden boy among Oilers brass right now. Everybody really likes him and has high hopes of him stepping into the NHL line up out of training camp next fall, soooooo I'd be surprised if he's traded. He's exactly the kind of Dman Eakins was describing in the week he was hired. Smooth skating Dman who can transition the puck without having to chip it off the glass and out.

Equally entertaining is when people see a team with young guns and think those are the obvious returns for their average players.

Counteroffer

7th overall + Maracinin + 3rd rounder for MDZ + Miller

add nick shultz to Edm and a mid round pick to NYR if that sweetens it.

Ill post a revised lineup based on trades accepted on this thread and in team forums where I have inquired on certain trades. Again im not overly concerned with next year as I think the young players need another year to develop. This would be a good lineup as far as i am concerned in the 14/15 season and moving forward. This would obviously be my idea of bold moves with abandoning the rebuild.

Trades agreed upon

seems a deal could be made around:

7th overall + prospect/pick for Gardiner

Hemsky + mid rounder to Ottawa for Smith

2014 4th + 2014 5th + Peckham for Y. Weber + Moen

Maracinin +Ana 2nd + Lander to WPG for Burmistrov

Harti rights + 2014 3rd rounder + 2013 6th to TOR for Frattin

some assumptions why I think this will be a solid team

- Hall continues to be a PPG/PPG+ player
- Eberle returns to his old self and is a 25+ goal scorer 70+ point player
-RNH - with healthy shoulder is a 20+ goal scorer and 70+ point player
- Yaks rookie season not a fluke, develops into 30+ goal scorer and 60+ point player
- Pajaarvi continues development and turns into a 15+ goal scorer and 40+ point player
- J. Schultz is a around a 0.5 PPG dman and improves defensively as he gets used to playing full seasons.
- Klefbom is the real deal.

Hall - RNH - Yakupov
PRV - Gagner - Eberle
big defensive Free agent - Burmistrov - Frattin
Moen - Smith - R. Jones

Smid - J. Schultz
Gardiner - Petry
Klefbom - Belov
Y, Webber - Gernat

Dubnyk - Decent backup.
