Calgary - making the biggest splash by trading for Lecavalier, signing UFA Iginla and UFA B.Richards (Draft Nichushkin)

Edmonton - biggest trade would be Hemsky + for either Grabovski or Burmistrov (Draft Monahan)

Toronto - Gardiner+1st for Nino+1st , UFA Clarkson (Draft Lazar)

Moving up 6 spots is not the difference between Gardiner and Nino

I can see the Oilers trying to make a huge splash, but their team needs (big top 6 center(MacT likes multiple centers to use as wingers, so RNH or Gags would move to wing) and top pair minute muncher defense man) or in extremely high demand this season. The price may be too high, so I expect the Oilers will do this:

- Trade number 7 pick outright as part of a package for a younger 3rd line center with some upside (philly anyone? been discussed to death, but is really likely)
- Trade a very unlikely name defense man due to getting maximum value. MacT's comments suggest he wants a very mobile defense that can move the puck upwards to our forwards (big problem last year) and add some more offense. he would like speed as well. I look at the line-up, and smid stands out, though I would really hate to lose him, he would get terrific value. The UFA crop has several people available that can fit in to his type of role, just not as good. Nick Schultz as well is likely gone due to contract cost.
- I think the superkids are safe this year, I suggested Ebs was the one to be traded, but NEXT year. (Got roasted for it as well, but more people are suggesting it now)
- Hemsky and Horcoff will both be traded. They do have value over players likely to be bought out. I can see the Oilers trading for a more expensive buyout contract with Horcoff and getting a additional asset.
- Don't see the playoffs here, don't think the Oilers see it either. too many changes needed to make it happen, so the team will rebuild with complimentary players this year and make their major WOW moves next year starting at trade deadline.

Oilers should get Stuart not as a rental, but to get him to a good deal(3-4 years, 2 per).

We need more guys that give it all on the ice, and a Smid-Stuart as a PK pair would be great.

He may be just a 3rd pairing(no offensive skills) but it can be ugly icing AHLers on the 3rd pair(Potter, Barker).

Would like a Eberle for a top D-man. Can even add the 7th if needed.

top dman - Petry
Smid - Schultz
Stuart - Belov/Klefbom

Your choice:

Edmonton signs Bryzgalov.
Calgary resigns Iginla
Winnipeg renames the team to The Moose.
Montreal signs a 4th line center no one will ever care about.
Toronto signs Jagr.
Ottawa signs Ron Hainsey
Vancouver sends an offer sheet to someone. (I don't care who)

Ott and Briere seem like a decent match

But I only see us getting one vet ... Murray wants guys who are under 30 years of age

Agreed. I feel like Liles will simply get bought out. But NYI will need a solid D man since Streit is no longer with them. Also I doubt we land Scuderi. I'd like to but too many other teams will be interested.
