I remember when Glencross was Public Enemy #1 for laying Captain Dreary out in Calgary a few years ago.

Could they? Yes. But it will cost quite a bit is my guess.

In that line up I would almost rather Clowe.

I love that 4th line which could and should be used as a 3rd very easily.

What do you think we would have to offer to get Glencross? Raymond is a UFA and I think he's a very real possiblity with AV on board.

Glencross has a NMC and loves Calgary. i don't think he'd waive it.

You're probably right, but doesn't have hate losing? He's too good to be on that team.

He doesn't seem to mind.
this article came out a little after the trade deadline.

Quote:
San Jose - First off, Curtis Glencross is beyond flattered to learn 25 National Hockey League clubs called the Calgary Flames about his services before the NHL trade deadline.

“Obviously, it’s an honour that teams are interested in me and want me,” Glencross said Friday afternoon before heading out into the California sunshine. “It’s pretty cool.

“I didn’t know. I had my no-move clause, and I was just hanging out and not really thinking of anything.”

Truth be told, Glencross wasted zero energy on a potential move, because the Flames assured him it wouldn’t happen. In fact, general manager Jay Feaster called Bob Hartley and asked his coach to tell Glencross that a media report claiming his availability was, simply put, garbage.

And, truth be told, Glencross, 30, wants it to stay that way. Calgary is home. Full stop.

Even though the Flames are full rebuilding mode, he intends fully on sticking around and seeing it through.

No matter how gruesome it might get along the way.

“It’s tough,” Glencross conceded. “I’m the kind of guy too that I wear my emotion on my face quite a bit. When I get frustrated, I’m not scared to yell once in a while on the bench or that kind of stuff.”

He intends.

If Feaster can get a nice package for him, and he asks Glencross to waive, I'm sure he will. I just don't think Feaster is actively seeking to trade him.

Now, Tanguay and Stempiak, on the other hand, are rumoured to be on the block big time.

Tanguay has been in a downward spiral for about 3 years now.

He struggled in 09-10, had back to back productive seasons (69 points, then 49 in 64 games), and had 27 in 40 this year, good for about ~50 points.

I wouldn't really be all too interested, but he's hardly been on a "downward sprial".

And due to his team friendly caphit some GM may just overpay.
Would Glencross waive? i am not sure, he loves his ranch and his lifestyle.

Of the 2, i'd take Stempniak. RH shot, can help out on the PP. Good fit on the 3rd line, younger and better caphit.

I guess "downward spiral" was too much, but he's declined every year is what I meant.

I would definitely take Stempniak for the right price.

Agree about D depth. disagree with FWD depth. I don't see much upside in the current group of forwards as a unit. Needs some revamping IMO.

It does not matter whether you care or not about it, but you can't just plain throw aside years of inconsistency based on a 20 game sample size. That's an extremely short sighted approach. He is our 2C by default because he's competing with Brian Boyle for that spot assuming Richards is bought out.

2 NHL sources tell CSN Flyers & ANA talking of Bobby Ryan. Among scenarios being discussed: Coburn, 11th pick for Ryan... more later
What would be the equivalent from the Rangers? Del zotto and hagelin?

I wouldn't do Hagelin and DZ for Ryan, but if they are getting Coburn + 1st from Philly, that's quite a haul.

just because of the 11th pick. Coburn is due 4.5M for the next 4 years, he's coming off a separated shoulder, he hasn't scored 30 points since 2007, and he was a -10 last year.. I'm not sure that screams very good haul, and from Ducks fans, they hate that offer the majority of them.

Coburn is a solid 2nd pairing defenseman. He's pretty much Marc Staal-lite.

It's not a bad package, but I don't think Anaheim should make that trade.

Wonder if they'd take DZ for Ryan, or if they'd insist on Staal.
