Since you're including his playoff stats into his projection, would you like to talk about his 20% shooting ? Because here at HF we love to use the phrase unsustainable about that kind of thing.
If you combine his playoffs shooting percentage with his regular season shooting percentage than he would have 85 SOG, 7 goals meaning he would be shooting at 8.2%.

For compairson sakes, Justin Schultz shot at 9.4%.

I can see the Oilers taking a guy like Kulemin, Leafs get some cap and salary space freed up. Kulemin could be a nice stop gap fit to play opposite Yakupov. Whatever might be being discussed, I bet it would be minor. Kulemin for one of the Oiler's 2nd round picks? I would love to get Gunnarsson, but think the Leafs value him quite a bit.

1. Leafs don't need cap space.

2. Kulemin is cheap at 2.8M

major deal

To Edm
Phaneuf
Grabovski
Komisarek
2nd

To Toronto
7th overall
Gagner
Horcoff
Eager
Peckham

Phaneuf < 7th
Grabovski < Gagner
Komisarek = Horcoff (horcoff is more useful, but overpaid & has extra year remaining)
2nd > Eager/Peckham

For Toronto:
move Phaneuf who might be ? to re-sign & UFA to be (not convinced he likes being in the toronto media spotlight), and Grabo whose deal is a bit risky given the term. Get back a top-pick, while adding a solid top-6 C with upside, an overpaid but decent 3rd line center, and two gritty depth players that will fit Carlyle's style of play.

For Edmonton:
Gamble on being able to re-sign Phaneuf (albera roots should help?), add a nice top-6 C to complement RNH (grabo is much better defensively than given credit for, while skilled enough to complement Yakupov well). Komisarek may be done, but may also be a "fresh start" away from being at least a solid bottom-pairing addition (knows Eakins well ). 2nd is what it is.

doubt most teams would value a 1-year Phaneuf enough to move the 7th overall... but MacT strikes me as the kind of GM that would. Nonis, on the other hand, I could see jumping at the chance to make an impact draft and set the stage for Gardiner/Gunnarson to become focal points on back end.

I have to think with the possibility of Rielly making the team and Gardiner/Franson establishing themselves, Liles as a solid veteran taking over for Whitney could make sense.

Gunnarsson Phaneuf
Gardiner Franson
Fraser _______

These guys are staples on Toronto's defence. Not sure what the deal would be.
Whitney is UFA and horrible

Why?

Gagner is a 24 year old 2C who scores 45pts a year, Colbourne isn't even an NHL regular player and #21 is a giant question mark.

Roster players have more value than draft picks...

I meant Liles taking over(because Whitney is a UFA and leaving) as what Whitney was suppose to be, a veteran d-man to mentor the kids on defence.

Ranger to Edmonton most likely because of the Dallas Eakins connection.

Gagner is idiot proof +40pts 2C. Joe Colborne is an AHLer and 21st overall could easily bust.

If MacTavish is even half serious about fixing the mess in Edmonton he's going to be after toughness, and he's going to be after defencemen. I think a sweet deal for both clubs would be something like this:

MacLaren
Gunnarsson
Kulemin
Grabovski
1st round pick

for

Eberle
1st round pick

The Leafs move up in the draft to grab a better prospect, and get a pretty good albeit expensive player who might be dynamite riding shotgun for Kadri.

The Oilers add depth up the middle, get a more meat and potatoes winger to replace Eberle, a top 4 defenceman who's still young enough to grow with the core of the team but provide instant credibility (Gunnarsson is a totally underrated defenceman) to the blue line rather than potential alone. In MacLaren they guy some legit toughness, size, and ability to play a role on the team.

If it's not anything as ambitious as this, it's probably something smaller involving former Eakins players like Mark Fraser who's a tough defenceman they could use or Matt Frattin, a big winger they could really use, but not especially tough.
