If it is us, not quite sure how I'd feel with a Mason-Eriksson tandem.

Looks like Vancouver signed him. Was he highly touted in your system? His numbers look stellar.

Well at last the Sunshine talk will die.

I do not get why he would pick Vancouver. If Lu gets moved he will still be #3.

He is their unquestioned starter in the AHL. The Flyers probably offered him a chance to compete with Heeter for time with the Phantoms.

Only if Lu is moved though, right?

For that matter, are we sure Lack is the backup to Schneider if Lu is moved? Might they not get a vet backup and let Lack play in the AHL?

I was a bit surprised that he signed there.

Vancouver is in salary cap hell. Lou has to be moved somehow. I would think after this year a cheap backup who is without question the backup to Schneider will be brought in, whether the is Lack or whoever.

Serious question, why didn't Joacim Eriksson get an invite to the World Championships earlier this year? You would think with all this hype he is recieving from Flyer fans and even other fans of hockey, he would have been there.

Jonas Enroth
Johan Gustaffson
Jacob Markstrom

They were the three that stuck with the team. If Eriksson is "the best goalie not the in the NHL" I would think he would have at least made that team.

True but why are you assuming he didn't decline? He had a long year by European standards. It's no secret that I was pulling for the Flyers to get this kid signed. The Flyers really don't have anyone outside of Stolarz with any real potential so he would've been a good pick up IMO. Anyway hopefully the Flyers can add someone else.

I understand that, I just didn't hear anything about him getting invited or declining one. I was trying to find out if that was a possibility as well.

Yet after all the talk that Eriksson wanted a guaranteed NHL spot ...

Hey guys, Orlando just hired Vince Williams to be head coach and figured some members of this board would probably know something about him. What's the scoop on this guy?

He grew up four houses from me in Ottawa. Always thought his brother Klint would be the better hockey player.

No opinion on him as a coach though.

Is Derek Mathers going to be a regular on the Phantoms this year?

Definitely sign Akeson and Lauridsen. Wellwood and Manning maybe. The rest, cya.

Should be an interesting training camp. There are a lot of forwards who could be in the running for a spot in the Flyers lineup: Akeson, McGinn, Flanagan, Straka, Raffl, Cousins.

Capgeek has Flanagan listed as an RFA after next season, my question is why? He was signed as a UFA out of college and I just assumed he'd be a UFA after the one year deal, evidently that's not the case.

He'll be 25 by next summer. You have to be either be 27 or played in the league for 7 years to become a UFA once you enter the NHL.

He was only a UFA this time around because nobody drafted him or owned his rights.

I guess signing an ELC qualifies as entering the NHL? I was aware of those rules (27 yo/7yrs) but since he's never even played an NHL game/just signed his contract I didn't think those rules applied. I guess that makes sense though.

Gus, the Dane, and manning for me. Maybe Wellwood but I've soured on him a bit. We will see how he bounces back after the big slice. I think akeson has a year left on his deal. Kessel can go for sure. Wahl I did not see play but his stats sure seem underwhelming.

What's the word with straka and raffl, what chances do they have to make it on the 3rd/4th line? I really wanna see straka up with the big club

More realistically? Raffl. More "experienced" and fits lavys system extremely well. My biassness? Straka. Like his offensive potential and his future game. His is a top 9 or bust player though. Has good offensive skills but struggles just a bit defensively

So, new top 10 for Flyers prospects? Picked up two good ones in this past draft. Wonder where they fit in with Laughton, Stolaz, Gostisbehere, Straka, Noebels, etc.
