His antics when traded to the Mooseheads, his general ego and demeanor, his behaviour in the bars (google Marchand and Halifax Casino) all attribute to the hatred that is fervent for Marchand around here.

CBC stop trying to give Halifax a bad name.
I've seen many pictures of him on Google when he was drunk and he was giving the finger too. Funny how nobody likes him in Halifax even if he played with the Mooseheads.

I know Briere is injury prone, but i would love him on our team. He's so clutch. Too bad we have no room for him.

If we hadn't extended DD for 3 years, Briere would have been a perfect fit here. He's a Bruins killer as well

If Briere wasn't such a *****, he'd be a good fit.

**** Brière. He refused a great offer from Gainey six years ago. We don't need another player who has 0 size.

He wanted to play here actually but listened to his wife who didn't want him to play in Montreal because of the kids if i'm not mistaking and now he's divorced

I said yes only if we hadn't signed DD, or if Bergevin finds a way to trade him this summer if he prefers Briere. I don't think it happens anyways

He's a little old, but i still like him more than Plekanec. I'd rather have Briere at a cut as my 3rd line center than Plekanec at 5m in that spot. Not that Plekanec will be the 3rd line center next year, but eventually, yes.

Okay. You like him more than Plekanec but is he better than him? He has a cap hit right now of 6,5M.
Plekanec is younger and bigger than him. He's actually our 1st line center (but he shouldn't) and he's doing an excellent job. Brière is not the same player he used to be. 35 years old now...

He was scratched for game 3-4 against gatineau because he ****** quit on the team in the dressing room.

And I'm sure in High School he was appreciated and he had many many friends because he was a good hockey player. People sometimes...

Well he's getting bought out right? He's not going to cost 6.5m to whoever takes him. Is he better than Plekanec? Overall, no. But i just don't feel like Plekanec is a winner. I feel that way about Briere, he flat out scores huge goals for his team time and time again.

But maybe he's kind of done, i don't know.

Yes he just got bought out lol. Indeed, Brière scores huge goals and I can't say otherwise but don't forget he never won the Stanley Cup and it's not like he never had the opportunities. Both aren't winners if you ask me.

He isn't done, he has 2 (max 3) years where he can show people he still belongs in this league. He's going to end up in St.Louis or Anaheim. I see him there.

I heard that when he was 7 years old he got in a fight and threw sand in a kid's face at school. I can't believe he ever made it to the NHL...

By winner i kind of just meant the will to win any particular game, not the cup itself. I mean Travis Moen won the cup, and we all know about that guy's will to win...

I'm not saying get him, it kind of makes little sense. For me I just feel that there is an utter lack of a game-changer at the forward position for the Habs. We now have Galchenyuk, but he's still very young. I would love to add a guy that has the ability to really turn a game on its head.

Briere is getting older, but man does he have a knack of producing when it counts, and isn't that the kind of player a team should want? He's in serious elite company with his playoff production.

I don't think it will be very long for him to find work, if he it does it's cause he's got plenty of offers and wants to decide where he wants to continue his career. Briere is clutch

Briere will be a valuable piece to whatever team gets him. Ridiculously productive in the playoffs and a guy opponents hate because he's a diving little *******.

Unreal game last night!

Had to watch on NBC cuz CBC Bruins homers were annoying.

Pierre McGuire did a great job.

He needs to be well insulated like DD like he was in PHillie. If he signs somewhere and they expect him to be a frontline guy he will fail.

Desharnais is a much worse player than Briere and it showed even in his 60 point year with his road game statistics. Yes, Briere probably needs on big boy winger to give him space, but he sure takes advantage of it very well.
