He's now moved over to the buyout DP and get Strome+ stuff. That or Sedin bashing with HardyVan.

Ok I'm sure this has been mentioned previously but I would just like some clarification.

Has the cap hit changed in any way? My thought is a team "stuck" with Luongo when he's at the lowend of his salary will suddenly have a valued asset.

In 5 years the cap floor will probably be over 50, are the Coyotes or whoever going to be paying that much? Luongo's contract at that time will be highly sought after by teams looking to make the floor, or is there something in the fine print of the CBA that changes this?

I'm sure this has been beaten like a dead horse already.

IMO we should just trade Schneider, but whatever.

Can you believe Gillis turned down Kadri + Bozak + 2013 2nd round pick for Luongo at the draft? And this guy still has a job!

Why not Phoenix?
Under the assumption that Mike Smith leaves of course.
.....and by Phoenix I guess I mean when the city of Glendale decides they cant keep the Yotes and they become the Nordiques, which would put Lu back in Quebec where he would be the centerpiece of the Francophone battle, therefore becoming an instant Legend

I don't know if they have the financial stability to take on a contract like Luongo's.

Yeah if Phoenix fans paid more than 10 dollars for their tickets.

Mike Smith made 2 million last season, Phoenix isn't gonna pay much more than that for goaltending, assuming they stay.

If they end up in Quebec though, could happen. Seattle... not likely.

Seems like a waste of cash for a team like Phoenix. They can make any goalie look above-average so I'd think they'd want to spend the money on some forwards instead.

I could be way off though.

Most likely you're right. I just want to see Lu in a Nordiques jersey playing in Quebec

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool. It'd probably make more sense if Tippett didn't want to follow the team to Quebec City and they'd probably have a higher budget too.

With Backstrom a UFA and the Wild already over the cap and still needing a starter could a Luongo for Pominville deal be a basis for a bigger deal?

Luongo
Schroeder
Hansen
2013 1st

for

Pominville
Clutterbuck

Then we trade Edler for Couturier plus?

Sedin Sedin Burrows
???? Kesler Pominville
Higgins Couturier Clutterbuck
Lain Lappy Kassian

Then we just need a 2nd line LW. Defense is still capable.

Hamhuis Bieksa
Garrison Tanev
Ballard Corrado

Schneider
Lack / Eriksson

Tight fit under cap but doable.

Luongo isnt getting traded to a high cap team. Luongo contract isnt bad for a non high cap team.

In all fairness the wild just acquired pominville.. Don't see him moving.

My idea I had earlier (assuming Backstrom walks) was

Vancouver
Zenon Konopka
Cal Clutterbuck
Kyle Brodziak

Wild
Roberto Luongo

This would really fix up Vans bottom 6, and address their forward depth.

You know what.....that's a pretty sensible trade right there (pending the loss of Backstrom) but is Lu going to be traded within the West?

I don't see it being a huge problem. MIN isn't in VAN's division any more at least.

The only thing that would block this would be if Luongo didn't waive hos NTC.
But im pretty convinced he would waive to go anywhere at this point.

While a decent idea, I honestly think Minnesota could get some pretty good value for Clutterbuck and Brodziak.

In that case they may opt to move them separately and re-up Backstrom. How much higher of a cap hit would Backstrom be looking for than Luongo's is the question I suppose?

It definitely would all depend on Backstrom walking (and Luongo being available after the start of free agency) so there is 2 huge variables right there.

I kinda try to keep my valuation between the
"Colborne, MacArthur, 2nd, Scrivens"
and
"2nd + 2nd + Scrivens" rumours.

*sighs*

For the umpteenth time. The rumor was Bozak + 2nd + something. Gillis insisted on Kadri being involved and Burke/Nonis refused.

If the Coyotes move to Quebec Luongo for Doan makes a boatload of sense to me.

At Doan's salary no thank you. Love the way he plays and what he brings but his 35+ contract is just terrible for Vancouver. IMHO he'd have less value to us than Lui. N that's saying something.
