Little less than I expected. And so ends Nuck fans endless whining clamouring of the Savior Torres returning to the Promise Lands. To this I say...

Thank you, San Jose!

Good signing. Having Torres really changed our team last year.

I still remember the trade thread where literally every Sharks was *****ing and whining "oh why oh why would we get Torres"
20 games later they are enamoured with the guy. Too funny.

Torres brings something to the ice almost every team wants and yes he does have some baggage and reputation but for what he provides on the ice, it makes up for anything off. At this price the Sharks will be happy and Torres is probably happy to be in a fairly sizeable hockey market but can still enjoy the beauty of North Cali.
Dislike this for the Nucks though, we may need to go out and acquire Clutterbuck to heed some of this for our team.

Not every Sharks was *****ing and whining. There were a few who had the foresight to see what Torres brought. The rest brought up the Thornton separated shoulder and the Michalek hit like they were yesterday.

The myopia was pretty comedic though.

Will the Sharks bank salary cap when he is suspended? Or will he still count against the cap?

Low hanging fruit.

Stoll considers the hit a hockey play.

Got anything else?

What a thug. Look at all those PIMs last year and... oh, wait. 17. Over a full season that is nearly 40! What a thug.

The only "dirty" play was the one on Stoll, and that being considered a dirty hit was very questionable. Even Stoll called it a hockey play, and Torres and Stoll are good friends from their time on the Oilers.

Normally this wouldn't be a bad deal... but seriously... the cap is declining and so many teams are supposedly strapped for cash. This deal is further proof that the managers have learned nothing.

Its not like he's handing out some long front loaded retirement plan. Are we even talking about the same signing here?

I think if you look at the Sharks cap situation for next season and the season after, the doom and gloom is unnecessary.

Once Shanny has lost his job he doesnt need to be scared about that though.

Funny how when everyone was calling for Campbell to be fired they knew that the league would stop handing out all of these suspensions that they deemed inappropriate. When Shanny came in a lot of those same people thought it was a solid move, though there were those who remained skeptical.

Face it. Suspensions are going to be inconsistent in the eyes of the fans. A lot of fans are going to disagree with a lot of suspensions. Firing one guy and replacing him won't change that. I'm sure Torres knows that better than we do, though whether or not he cares remains to be seen.

I look forward to seeing him injure more players this year! With a bit of luck, he'll successfully decapitate someone with an iron lotus.
