Ya i'm by no means a basketball fan and i'll probably end up only watching the second half
But i was quite entertained last game
It is harder to be a fan when i'm not really passionately rooting for any specific team

Spoken like two basketball newbies lol. It's all good though. It's good that you're watching. I don't even like San Antonio (although Tony Parker is awesome, so is Leonard) but there's no way I can bring myself to cheer for the Heat. Wade and Bosh are two of the most unlikeable, douchey, fake individuals in basketball. Lebron is beyond the hate now, it's just impossible to not respect him and appreciate his game in some way. But the way that team was formed, the city, the enormous bandwagon nature of the fans... it's just a garbage sports town.

I know what you mean but i guess you could say i'm cheering for the Heat because it seems everyone is cheering against them. I really won't be disappointed either way as long as we get a good finish,

I loved him in True Romance. The corkscrew scene with Patricia Arquette was killer.

10 straight.

This really puts their hideous start in perspective. Still last in the AL East.

Their best bet for a playoff birth is likely a Wildcard spot.

I wouldn't say that, there are a ton of games left, 89 to be exact. We're only 4 GB of the WC and 6 back of Boston for the division, what this winning streak has done has washed out some of the bad start and gotten us back in the race, now we just have to continue to win series and we should be fine.

A big boost would be the return of Reyes. Him and Melky at the top of the order would really help our bats. Add in Joey Bats, Edwin and Lind behind them, and we could really do some damage.

Lets hope they get 11 today.

They probably have to go 56-33 the rest of the way (including today's game) for 93 wins to make the playoffs.

EDIT: Great start today.

Is this a low scoring football game?

EDIT: Not a fan of baseball. I just happened to turn on the TV and see this.

I have been watching the Jays since like 1990. Went to my first game in '91. But really, it's damn near impossible to want to watch 80 meaningless Jays games a year. So yeah, people are going to watch when they play well...No need to waste 3-5 hours a day on a team when they aren't playing well.

On Twitter, the same thing. Jays fans are only around for when the ride is smooth.

The OT thread is rarely constantly active like other boards OT threads. It picks up and then dies down. Calling fan's fair weather is a pretty silly assumption.

Especially considering you yourself haven't constantly posted in this thread

That's a gross generalization, I haven't missed a game that I've been able to watch. To say jays fans are only around when they're winning, is ridiculous. If that we're the case there would have been no jays fans the past 20 years. Pretty stupid comment.

I post in the Jays threads on the Maple Leafs board and I'm pretty sure I've seen other Oilers fans doing the same.

What the heck were the odds of Nadal losing in the opening round?

*Raises hand*

Yup that's me. Win and I watch. Suck and I could care less.

I'm just not a big enough baseball fan to watch a team that's hopelessly out of the playoffs.

And I don't feel 1 ounce of guilt or shame for that.

I'm the same with the Eskimo's admittedly.

I've watched at least 90 percent of the games this season.
