He would join the ranks of Sean Avery (lacerated, no surgery) and Forsberg (ruptured spleen, took off the next season to fully heal) w/ playoff spleen injuries.

The Bruins aren't winning this series without Bergeron.

Bolland Career PPG: 0.52
Callahan Career PPG: 0.54

Similar PPG, have to give advantage to the shutdown center who stats an astronomical amount of zone starts in his own end against tougher competition.

Just to confirm, we're talking about Dave Bolland and Ryan Calahan here right? Someone's saying that Dave 'never hit 20g, cracked 40pts once' Bolland is better than Callahan?

I wanted to make sure, because I've been taking some seriously wacky **** recently and if I didn't know better I'd say that could be the only reason why I thought I'd read that

more to hockey than goals and points and they have pretty identical career PPGs.

there certainly is, by I question what Bolland does better than Cally. I reckon I've seen at least 60 Blackhawks game in season 10-11 and 11-12, and at least 25 this year. NOt once have I thought to myself 'damn, I'd much rather have Bolland than Cally'.

Well if you've been watching Bolland so closely, you surely would've noticed his dramatic increase in play during the playoffs. He's played an integral role for 3 straight season from 2009-2011 containing the Sedin twins at 100+ pt peak level. He always got the tougher, in zone-matchups during those years while Toews and Sharp were put in a scoring role. Obviously, that's changed in recent years with Toews improvement in defensive play and the emergence of center Markus Kruger. Callahan really hasn't shown dominance Bolland put in the 2010 playoff run.

He's 2010 playoffs was awesome, I doubt you'll find anyone who says otherwise. I still wouldn't take him over Callahan, nor do I think he's a better hockey player

That's fine. However I don't think acids are needed to see the similarities between the two players lol.

It's no disrespect to Callahan really, Bolland is a good player and has been a fixture in a shutdown role on perhaps a dynasty Hawks team. He is one of the best defensive players of this generation.

Tough luck for Bergeron. My buddy couldn't make contract after spleen rapture for 8 months.

Bernier to the Leafs just shows it pays to develop goaltenders.
I think the Leafs payed a lot and is a ZERO vote of confidence in Reimers ability.
Another tidbit both were drafted in 2006 Bernier 11th Reimer 99th

The impending goalie controversy in TOR is going to be hilarious. Or Bernier does really well and the Leafs keep improving...
