I have no doubt that a single Avs fan or two got carried away when Mitchell had a few goals early last season. But trying to insinuate that that was anything but an anomaly is being dishonest.

You post on the Leafs forum. You have plenty of over enthusiastic posters there (search for Kadri + olympics for example). Singling out outliers is a pretty pointless exercise.

I can guarantee that Avs fans in general know very well the distinction between the abilities of Ryan O'Reilly and John Mitchell.

Or the fact that #1 Centers are far more valuable than first line wingers?

Nice try though,
Lol sweet job he does, with his stellar +/- and all. Duchene is an amazing player but the fact that hes a Center really doesn't matter for this, you judge by the best player, which is currently Kessel.

Brilliant move.
Kessel put Toronto on his shoulders and was the best player on a team that finally made the playoffs after 10 years of losing.

Not saying Duchene is not a winner, but just addressing your comment.

Kessel, now and till he's out of his Prime.

People are voting on this not on skill but also contract situations, age, cap hit etc.etc.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion.... but Ok.

Avs fans will very, very happily keep Duchene as well.(And clearly the majority of other fan bases would keep Duchene too)

Hold on a second, was it Kessel that carried Toronto into playoffs or Riemer? Because for what I've been told its been all Riemer. Also not like Duchene has never been in the playoffs as well in his first year in the NHL.

It was Kessel, 100%. Even when he had bad luck at the beginning of the season it was him. He really kept everything moving all year.

Duchene has potential and you want to have youth on your team.

If you guys still think Kessel is a 1 - dimensional player then you havent watched much of the BOS-TOR Series... This guy uses his speed to back check with similar speeds to Datsyuk. With a new defensive coach in place people will slowly see his improvement.

Voted Duchene, due to him being younger and more manageable against the cap. Plus, he's a stud who I think is going to have a MONSTER season this year. This is only because I'll usually always pick a star center over a star winger. That being said, Kessel is quite easily the best player right now

Well it's pretty clear Kessel's speed is being severely underrated... Duchene is fast as hell but so is Kessel.

Except this thread isn't about Karlsson, it's about Kessel and Duchene, I don't know why you would throw Erik into the mix but in that case I would take Erik over both those guys.
