Nothing like a proven goaltender to end the speculation.

Unless [dramatic pause], Toronto moves Reimer for Luongo. Or is it?

Leafs weren't going to get Luongo anyways. Too long of a contract.

Besides, he would have folded like the cheapest of suits in Toronto.

Is there any truth behind that offer?

nonis likes to build from the backend out.

so unless hes waiting for a couple of years....ie for either to goalie to mature to a higher level.... or gambling that either goalie cancarry them deep.........reimer good solid goalie gave them one decent series(as opposed to a long run)

i would expect nonis still has work this offseason to upgrade his goaltending for along run

either he flips JB for a better return than he gave??????

or he still trades for luongo(if the price is right to nonis)....that type of goaltending would make them a scary team next season.......

or he goes for a Backstrom UFA for short term....or he hopes a big name goalie is avaliable at trade deadline

bottom line he may still be intrested inLuongo if price is in his ballpark

Toronto barely had the assets to make the Bernier trade and they sure as heck never had the assets to make the Luongo trade.

The safe bet is Luongo goes to Florida. Florida, in my opinion, is just trying to figure out whether it is worth it to include the #2 pick, this year, in that package, or if its better to trade prospects/players.

This is probably the potential deal that cost Burke his job.

Nope.

It was Bozak + 2nd (something along those lines). Gillis wanted Kadri in the deal and Nonis rejected it.

In the summer bud. When Burke was GM. It was almost done.

I always said if Toronto traded for Bernier it would mean the end of all the Luongo to Toronto trade talk, because there would be no reason for the Leafs to even talk with Vancouver. So now Mike Gillis has one less team he can talk with and at least we can now sit back and watch what happens.

I read a post on this site that I thought was pretty amazing. The Nucks are in such trouble cap wise that they absolutely can't start next season with Luongo on their roster. So what if Luongo refused to waive his NTC for anyone? Would the Nucks have no choice but to buy him out? I think so.

If you could even get Florida's 2nd for Luongo at this point that would be a coup.

Goodluck with Lou, and to the Canucks. Was Rooting for ya'll against the Bruins.

Fun fact.

The Blackhawks and Bruins have spent more time in OT in this series than the canucks did in the playoffs.

Rumor has it that is what was offered, Burke refused. MLSE higher ups wanted that trade made but Burke wouldn't do it.

Yeah...not really thread-worthy. At least in the trade board.
