Vancouver has re-signed Patrick Mullen to a 1 year 2-way deal with an AAV of $600,000. Mullen, 27, who only got into 2 games in the AHL last season (with 0 points) with Chicago was scheduled to become an UFA this summer. The son of Joe Mullen was never drafted.

Colorado F Tomas Vincour, who played this past season for both Colorado and Dallas, as well as with Texas and Lake Erie of the AHL, has signed with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL. Vincour, 22, had 2 goals and 2 assists in 17 NHL games, along with 18 goals and 21 assists in 53 AHL games. Vincour, originally a 5th round pick, 129th overall, of Dallas in 2009 is scheduled to become an RFA this summer.

Also, Ak Bars Kazan announced the signing of Chris Bourque, but Capgeek has him under contract to the Bruins for another season, so I might hold off on that one until I see some confirmation that the Bruins are loaning him/permitting him/releasing him before I confirm it on here.

Just saw on Twitter that his agent has said the same, per Igor Eronko.

Nashville has re-signed Kevin Henderson to a 2-year deal.

Quote:
Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed forward Kevin Henderson to a two-year, two-way contract. He will make $550,000 at the NHL level and $75,000 at the AHL level in 2013-14, and $550,000 at the NHL level and $80,000 at the AHL level in 2014-15.

Henderson, 26 (12/3/86), suited up for Nashville’s final four regular-season contests in 2012-13, scoring a goal in his NHL debut on April 19, 2013 at Chicago. The 6-3, 210-pound left wing also ranked third on the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) in goals (17) and plus/minus rating (+13) during the 2012-13 campaign, his second season with Nashville’s primary developmental affiliate. Since 2009, Henderson has 76 points (31g-45a) in 234 AHL games with Worcester and Milwaukee.

Henderson was never drafted, and was scheduled to become an UFA this summer.

St. Louis has re-signed Taylor Chorney to a 1 year 2-way deal.

Quote:
The Blues and defenseman Taylor Chorney have agreed to terms on a new one-year, two-way contract.
Last season, Chorney played in 73 games with the Peoria Rivermen, recording four goals and 20 assists (24 points).

A Thunder Bay, Ont. native, Chorney was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round (36th overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft.[/quote]
http://blues.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=674407

I remember back when Chorney was looking like a 2nd round steal for the Oilers and a can't miss NHL star. I'm glad he's still making a go of it.

Kyle Cumiskey is a Group II (restricted) free agent from last year and would have been a Group III (unrestricted) free agent not until next year if not re-signed by Anaheim.

Plus, he was brought up to Boston as a Black Ace. Seems strange timing.

Came here to ask about just this. I knew he was under contract next year (a 1-way contract no less), and then I saw this "signing" on Eliteprospects. What happened to the mutual agreement between the KHL and NHL and "honoring existing contracts"?

And as mentioned by smsgtkvv, he's been brought up as a Black Ace. Seems fishy. I mean, I guess it's not entirely unheard of. For instance, Jan Mursak (impending UFA) signed with Amur Khabarovsk of the KHL on May 7th, but continued playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins up until tonight.

It's possible he has an understanding with the Bruins that if he's not likely to play with Boston next year than they will buy out his deal, or terminate it, or loan him out.

Any details on the Tim Stapleton contract? Just curious what he got. I thought he'd be back in the NHL this year.

Per Elite Prospects, Ryan Thang, who played last year for Augsburger of the DEL as an RFA of the Nashville Predators, has signed with Mora of the Allsvenkan. Thang, 26, who had 14 goals and 29 points in 50 games in Germany, was originally a 3rd round pick, 81st overall of Nashville in 2007.

Per a couple sources, Novokuznetsk of the KHL has signed Alexander Avtsin. Avtsin, 22, played last season with Hamilton of the AHL, where he put up 2 goals and 3 assists in 15 games while under contract to Montreal. Montreal terminated Avtsin's contract at the end of the season, at his request, making him an UFA. Avtsin was a 4th round pick, 109th overall, of the Habs in 2009.

Also, I updated all the guys who signed in the Elitserien this year to being signed in the SHL, the new new name for Sweden's top league.

#Avangard GM told Izvestia.ru they offered contract to Sergei Kostitsyn and there're 'no objections' from David Poile #KHL #Preds

#Avangard GM also said Kostitsyn has several more offers to consider and it's not clear yet if he returns
Kostitsyn has reportedly said that he'd like to return to the KHL for next season. My guess is, if Kostitsyn signs his deal, Nashville and he mutually terminate his contract.

Since the Briere Buy-Out is official in everything but name, I've added him to the UFA list.

Well, he did play that way at times last year.

Per Elite Prospects, Luke Walker, who played last year for Lake Erie of the AHL while under contract to Colorado, has signed with Medvescak Zagreb of the KHL. Walker, 23, had 12 goals and 25 points in 47 games with Lake Erie last season. Walker, who was a 5th round pick, 139th overall of Colorado in 2010, is scheduled to become a RFA this summer.
