My friend said tickets are in the $150 range. No way am I spending that for the draft. If it gets to maybe $40 I'll do it #poorcollegestudent.

It's been free the five times I've gone to the draft.

That's what I thought. I wonder if he's just messing with me

If it's free I might go.

That's absurd. There's no way they're that expensive.

I've been to two drafts and they didn't charge for either one. I remember buying a program and making donations to local charities, but that's about it.

It was free but there was a lottery. I missed out. Don't know what scalped tickets are going for.

You'd have to pay me to go to freaking Newark in late June to watch a draft where the Isles pick outside the Top 10

Yeah really from Long Island the train is a pain with the long walk through the office buildings or on the street its not like the building its right next to the train station. Go to the beach and enjoy the sun or a baseball game.

Also, there's a good chance they trade the pick too.

My wife and I were debating it, but I think I'll end up passing on it.

Agreed that it would not be worth it unless we had a top pick (which I hope will not be the case again for quite some time). I will be going to the draft party at the NVMC again with my son and a boatload of his high school friends and some parents. Usually a decent way to kill a few hours.

I went to the draft when it was in LA. I saw Nino selected and was surprised that the Islanders and 11 other teams passed on Cam Fowler.

Nino was my favorite for the #5 slot that year, I was amazed how he almost beat the Russians all by himself at the WJC in 2010 (still have that game on my DVR). He reminded me of Ovechkin but without the speed. BUT, I didn't know Fowler would drop, thought for sure he'd go top 4. Was still happy to have landed Nino, but would have preferred Fowler.
