Quote:
Brazil's president Dilma Rousseff has proposed a referendum on broad "political reform" and a $25 billion investment in public transport to deal with the country's unprecedented social unrest.

"I am going to press for a referendum for the election of a constituent assembly tasked with political reform," she said following talks with state governors and city mayors, and a meeting with protest leaders on Monday.

She also proposed to earmark $25 billion for public transport following huge nationwide street protests over the country's inadequate transit system.

Not only did you post a potential political discussion jumping off point, but linked to an aljazeera webpage?

Yikes

Maybe I'm being too sensitive here

I mean, the point was hockey-related sex puns . What I posted is just apolitically good news for the people of Brazil! Given all the press about it, efforts toward peace and dissolution of chaos is something we should all be happy about.

Is Brazilian politics far enough removed normal political discussion to be interesting world news?

Have any American news outlets mentioned Brazil? Is Al Jazeera a poor source? Honest question.

Regardless of your feelings on the corporatism of modern media Al Jazeera is one of the premier news organizations in the world and arguably best source in regard to the Levant.

I didn't think AJ had a poor reputation, but I'm far from a news expert. It is one of the sites I do check more frequently than the big domestic papers.

Alright, challenge for everyone:

My dad has recently become a big fan of Citizen Cope. Casual perusal places their debut album at around 2000, but apparently there is an album from 1992 called "Cope Citizen."

I can't find the damn thing.

Find me a place I can legally obtain a physical copy, and I shall dedicate a day of titles to singing your praises.

I had read it as "one's," no worries. I quoted you for the sake of continuity (unnecessarily, now that I think about it) and I also was speaking generally.

Amazon has" The Clarence Greenwood Recordings" by them and says it was released in 1990.

Wikipedia says it was limited to 500 copies so it might be tough to get one.

The OT seems to have died out a bit. Doesn't seem to be a surprise why either.

I'll have to stop trying to win them. That's the third big death since I've taken over.
