I hope Boston can keep it going. Would hate to see Chicago win it again and have to deal with their dbag fans at our arena.

It's looking more and more like Phoenix is either going to Seattle or staying put. Not sure why they wouldn't got to Quebec City...makes a lot more sense to me.

as has been mentioned elsewhere, there are two problems with moving to QC this summer... one, it screws the realignment plan, and two, the league could almost certainly get a huge expansion fee from a new franchise in QC.

so it makes more sense to move Phoenix to Seattle and expand to QC and then somewhere in the west like KC, Vegas or Houston (I dont believe for one minute that there will be a second Toronto franchise)

Sick of seeing comments like this. You know what it's time for Preds fans to start buying the tickets and making sure they do not get them. Also quit selling them to Chicago fans. Sure some will be there but the insane amount of red is because Preds fans sell there darn tickets to them or don't buy them up when available when they go on sale.

Well that is a problem too. I don't sell my tickets to anyone, but I definitely can't control others.

Talk about a round peg in a square hole...Check out the picks of the Barclays with the hockey set up. Looks awful. Seats less than 15k and the Islanders are there for the next 25 years.

However, it's still better than the Asbestos Colosseum.

Those angled seats in the lower bowl look terrible. Usually the fat head blocking your view is in front of you... Not NEXT to you.

“It’s the most important 24 hours in the history of the Phoenix Coyotes,” the source said.

Here’s the latest:

To complete its financing, the Renaissance Sports and Entertainment group needs a firm commitment from the Glendale City Council. They need a number on paper. They say they need $15 million annually.

The city has budgeted $6.5 million for management of Jobing.com Arena.

To bridge that $8.5 million gap, the two parties have negotiated revenue streams that will theoretically benefit both sides. The city will get a cut of parking, which will no longer be free for Coyotes fans. It gets a cut of future naming rights, which expire in 2016. It’s get a portion of ticket surcharge, and will oversee an escrow account that could pay the city even more money.

On paper, it could amount to $7-8 million of new revenue for Glendale every year.

But word is, the city of Glendale wants that number guaranteed. RSE won’t go down that road. And some fear that snag could be a potential deal-killer.
http://www.azcentral.com/insiders/da...y-for-coyotes/

Apparently they're meeting tomorrow and there's speculation that it's the deadline. We'll see...

How do the old Thrash fans feel about this? Rooting for or against Phoenix?

It's tough. The attendance sucks, but they fans have been jerked around with the move from the city and the bankruptcy. I am, however, a little bitter knowing that it came down to just a few city counsel votes and we'd still have the Thrash. Having said that, the owners would have probably sold to QC by now anyway.

To answer your question....I dunno.

Be kind of hypocritical considering they let the Boston Goons headshot whoever they want to without penalties.

I haven't had a chance to see the "missed calls" yet. I did see the head shot on Shaw, though. Completely unnecessary, and just down right stupid from McQuaid.

With regards to PHX, I don't see the the City of Glendale approving that deal without a guarantee, and I don't think there is any way to guarantee any amount of money from something like parking or ticket surcharges. It's impossible to predict the attendance for the Coyotes, and any attempt at it has to be a low figure since they last time they averaged even 14k+ wa 2008-2009, granted this past season came close. Then again, I'm not sure how much of that number from this past year was comp vs. paid attendance. Comp only really helps with the money going to Glendale with regards to parking.

Only if you don't care about sight lines, which, to me, are the most important thing about going to a hockey game. After all, when I go to a sporting event, I like to actually see the sporting event.

It would be different if it were a temporary home like KeyArena might be, because a proper venue is on the way, but the Islanders are going to be there until I'm 48, meaning I get to spend the prime years of my life watching their slow, agonizing decline into the laughingstock of professional sports in America (assuming something will happen to resolve the mess at Chivas USA).

They did the same for Bickel and Shaw as well.

McQuaid should have been called for his shot on Shaw, regardless of how big of a pest Shaw is. I didn't see what Frolik did, and I think people are really overblowing the Boychuk hit on Toews.

McQuaid was called, 2mins roughing ... Frolik with a blatant trip shortly before the empty net goal, another non-call with potentially huge impact on a game. The only consistent thing in hockey is the inconsistency of the officiating.

I've said this so many times it is almost painful.

I didn't realize McQuaid got a call on the ice. I'm without television at the moment, so my ability to watch these things is limited to youtube. I still think he should have gotten more than two minutes, though.

sorta fitting that Boston, who wouldnt have even been in the finals had toronto not had a last minute two goal meltdown, ends up losing the cup in the same fashion
