It may be bad journalism, but I don't really have to stretch my mind to believe that it's true.

No...once Pronger is LTIR and Meszaros is gone, we have 13m to spend. Streit is already factored into the 13m number.

On July 1st...we have THIRTEEN MILLION DOLLARS TO SPEND*

the writers airing their dirty laundry about this shows how gutless they are. Bryz was absolutely right when he called them out

I wonder if they did this because they have something else in store. I can't imagine they'd buy Bryz without having a plan to replace him.

As gutless as the writers are, Bryzgalov was an even bigger *******.

There's no reason for you to defend him. He hated you...and all of us. He trashed all of Philadelphia; the fans, his teammates, the coaches, the media, and the city itself.

I don't know what's worse

Please remember... Pronger cannot be put onto LTIR until AFTER the cap compliance date, so his savings really cannot be used during the offseason. You'd essentially need to tell whichever player wanted that money that they need to wait until after amp is underway to sign their deal.

He already has a friendly cap hit, you just have to pay him it until he's 73 years old!

Seriously, I hope you guys get Luongo. I like the Flyers and he would be a great fit. He would be the opposite of Bryz off the ice. Great teammate, great leader and I firmly believe he still has a lot of great hockey left in him.

Lol I was just saying on Twitter how it is the first and likely the only time I'll ever agree with that assclown.

We can still go over the cap by 10% in the offseason

About as anti-climactic as the Kane goal on Leighton to win the cup....

"I met with Ilya this morning and informed him that we are going to exercise a compliance buy out of his contract," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said in a statement. Yeah. I am sure the organization didn't like the negative attention he brought to himself, but a lot of the negative attention came as a result of him being honest. I mean, how much of what Bryz said can you really argue was not true?

I still don't buy the lockerroom cancer stuff. I am sure players didn't like him, but you arent going to like everyone on your team. Remember, these are the same reporters that led us to believe Richards was a drunk and also bad in the lockerroom, yet he seems to be doing fine in LA.

If you piss off the writers, they will trash you. The only player who seemed to get away with it was Pronger.

We can go over the salary cap by 10%...

Which is 6.43m.

That covers all of Pronger's cap and more.

He's a pro athlete that got paid 60 million to play in a demanding city, and people feel bad because the media acted like big meanies? Grow up, seriously.

Had Bryz conducted himself with the slightest amount of humility, the fans wouldn't have been on him as hard as they were.

Which is more than Prongers cap hit. So we can basically go over the cap 4.9 million and still be ok
