Addition by subtraction here. Even if we don't sign anyone this year to be a goalie or fill up that cap space, we'll have free cap space the next 6+ seasons to improve this team. Losing Bryz is nothing but a positive thing for this franchise.
The Philadelphia media is showing themselves to be absolute trash. You won't see Ray Didinger or the older crew pulling this nonsense, and it is unfortunate.
Many of us had qualms with Bryz coming in, but he kicked ass that first month. The reality is we run him into the ground and then expected him to get better as the team got progressively worse.
Yes, his contract was too large, and that isn't his fault.
I think of the Eagles' player who recently said something to the effect of "You all [the media and some fans] are calling me out for missing optional work with the team to be a father. You'd say the same thing if I had fifteen kids and was a horrible human being." The reality is that is becoming more apparent, and it is unfortunate.
This is good for the team, but that circus surrounding these circumstances is, at best, sad.
Adios Bryz. I'm disappointed he never was able to find his game here, but it was a monstrous and terrible contract from day 1 regardless. I'm a little scared of going with just Mason so we need to find someone, but the options scare me as well.
