I really doubt that Montreal lets Bailey slide if available at 55. In fact, chances are they grab him with on of their first 3 picks.

Pretty perfect for SJ. I'd prefer Lehkonen to Buchnevich in real life just because of the transfer factor, but in theory this is fairly perfect. 4 high-upside boom-bust kids. If they can get two of them to work out, they're pretty set.

The rest of the draft seems very good too. The only outstanding issue seems to be Theodore falling that far.

Doubt the Habs would go for an undersize center with Petan but you never know. My feeling is that they'll go with size and grit on the wings.

Good job!!!

Just about the worst possible combination of players the Sabres could come away with at #8 and #16. They would take Risto, Nurse and Horvat before they would take Shinkaruk. At #16 they would take literally anyone you have from 16-30 before they would take Fucale.

I hate this draft for Buffalo. That top-7 is certainly Buffalo's worst-case scenario. I can't see the Sabres picking Shinkaruk at 8. If the board breaks that way, I think they go with Nurse or Ristolainen. Amateur scouting director Kevin Devine has stated that while Jones is the top of the defensemen class, there's not a huge dropoff to Nurse, Ristolainen, and Zadorov. Thus, I think they'd grab either Nurse or Ristolainen at 8. Also, I don't see them picking Fucale at 16. If they did want Fucale, I think they'd trade back 3-4 spots and then pick him. If the board broke this way, I think they'd grab a big body for the wing in Erne/Rychel/Zykov.

If Santini is on the board at 38, he'd be a great pick--many who watch the Sabres' prospects think they're considering Santini at 16. At 52, I'd prefer local boy Justin Bailey.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled at the Leafs pick. Erne isn't a total miss, but just a lot more players I'd rather go with at that spot. Lazar, Gauthier, even Morrissey.

Would have preferred Hartman with the 25th but I have no problem with Frédérik Gauthier and the other picks. Pretty solid

Awards:
-I'd rather have picks #26-29 over Gauthier.
-If a team drafts Subban in the 2nd, I'll laugh.
-I'd prefer McCoshen over Petan.
-Klimchuck is good, I'd also consider Dauphin at that point.
-I'd be good with Kuja as well.

You are either a fan of Calgary or don't like Lazar. I can't see Lazar not being a top 20 pick

Wasn't me that made the pick, but I have noticed the general consensus on our board is that Lazar doesn't project well as a scorer in the NHL.

Some Stars' fans may disagree, but that's a great haul for us. Sounds like our scouts love Nurse, so I wouldn't be surprised to see us take him at 10.

Maybe not as a passer but a goal scorer I think he projects very well. I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved back to wing.

Zadorov has way to high of a ceiling to slip that far IMO.

Other than Hartman, I hate every other pick for Dallas. I'm honestly not a Nurse fan at all and Bjorkstrand and Duclair are meh.

if Monahan is gone at #7, i wouldn't be surprised one bit to see the Oilers take Bo Horvat, and i support this move. the Oilers are looking for support players and not necessarily top 6, unless Nichuskin falls to them. if they don't get Monahan, Nurse, Horvat or Nichuskin, the Oil will likely trade the pick outright for some D help or grinders up front, or they'll trade down and try to get a roster player.
bang on at #37 with Jarry. a desire to upgrade the goaltending in the system with a better quality goalie would make this pick logical, though they could take large and tough Michael McCarron if he's still there.

God I wish I was more active around the Jets board. Would've volunteered for this. Who the hell drafted for Anaheim? Just awful.

Bowey over Lazar, Hartman, Compher, Hagg, McCoshen, Santini? Jesus.
Mini-me Cammaratta over guys like De La Rose, Theodore, Dickinson, Lehkonen, Kujawinski, Duclair, Fasching, Carrier, and Bailey?

Worst top 2 rounds I've seen for the Ducks all year.

tell us how you really feel

but Cammaratta is ranked like the 7th round or something...if the Ducks wanted him, they could wait much later to get him.

I'd be pretty damn upset if this is how our draft played out.

Like it a lot for the Sharks. Would be EXTREMELY happy with this.

I know there are some on the SHarks boards that would prefer Erne. it's probably split 50/50 him and Burakovsky. But I like all of the Sharks choices in this draft.

Well done!
