If Luongo is bought out and can be signed reasonably, I'm all over it.
I agree with you, I'm all over it too, but does it deserve to buy out 7 millions Bryz to get Luongo at 4/5M?
By doing this we only save 3 millions at best of cap space, and which players are we going to overpay with that?

There must be a reason behind that, maybe a major trade like others have speculated but.. I'm just tired of this philadelphia shake up every year. I don't think that this kind of things improve us in the long term.

The key factor is length of the contract.

He would need to stop being the worst starting goaltender in the NHL, by FAR, to do that. There is no excuse for Bryz. He sucked far harder than several goalies on teams who were much worse on defense than the Flyers. There's simply no excuse, and that's a big part of why he's gone.

I sure hope so as well, and then he could drive by Randy Miller's house and stick the trophy right up Miller's ass

Why does everyone feel sorry for an athlete that brought on the criticism himself?

I'm not backing the writers here, but if they were treated like ****, and he treated his teammates, fans, and my city like ****, why do we care so much about hating on the writers?

It's a strange thing in here, IMO.

He didn't treat me like ****, as far as I know he didn't vandalize the city. I can't honestly answer about the teammate thing.

That's why I think that Bryz should have been bought out next summer... the next year, Lundqvist, Hiller, Miller , Halak, Voukon, Crawford might be UFA... I know that only few of them might hit the open market but it's still a pretty good list

The thing that really annoys me about the media is that they have the mentality that they are the fans. Cataldi does it all the time "If you won't answer my questions you're spitting in the face of the fans!!!!" Makes no sense to me.

He didn't do anything to me, and any negative things he said didn't come out until after spending time being written about by those morons.

Such a sad ending. Bryzgalov should have been a hero here. He was the best free agent goaltender available at the time and carried a barren Phoenix team on his back. I don't know what went wrong here, but towards the end, he just seemed to not care. If the stories were true that he informed his teammates not to worry about him because he's getting his buyout and he was going to sign elsewhere and make up the lost money, then he needed to go. It shouldn't have been like this. Just disappointed that the goalie carousel still continues with what looks to be no end in sight.....

I hope he does put up spectacular numbers next season.

It might spell the end for Reese.

Sure he did. When an athlete plays for my team and he's getting paid handsomely to do so, partly from the money I pay out of my pocket to go see him play, I'd rather he not say everyone in the city is on welfare, the city is dirty and I don't like the city. Whether it's true or not, keep your ****ing mouth shut and be happy your a millionaire because of the team, city, and fans you just trashed.

Homer saying it's "going to be a wild ride over the next little while". Who knows what he has planned? I'm assuming from his other comments tonight that Emery is his man though. Makes the most sense.

I read that article and didn't get the impression he was making a blanket statement about everyone in Philly. I don't really care about his viewpoints and beliefs if he is performing. At the end of the day he wasn't so I'm fine with the buyout.

Yeah I don't think he treated the fans or the city like ****. He made some stupid comments a couple weeks ago about Philadelphia not being his type of city or something like that, but I didn't really take offense to that for a number of reasons. His relationship with media is obviously different. They brought it upon themselves and Bryz brought it upon himself the way things worked out between them. I never had a problem with Bryz as a person, and really wanted him to succeed here. Up until about halfway through this season I was vehemently against a buyout this year. Obviously, things changed and I lost any and all confidence in him, but I have nothing against the guy. If the players didn't like him because he was an *******, well, then he was an *******. But until I hear it from a reliable source...like a player...I've got nothing against the guy other than he sucked.
