3-0-2 guys...Now we need to keep pace with the Sabres in the Standings. 8 pts after 5 games for second in the division with a game in hand on the leafs and Sabres.

I have a feeling they'll be tired. Chicago isn't a pushover anymore. Let's make it 10 pts and 4-0-2 on the season. It's these early season pts that make a huge difference down the stretch.

Can't wait for monday's game!

3-0-2 is not bad at all,... we only lost 2 points.... It's not that far from Buffalo and we're still at the beginning of this season. Anything could happen!

Big game tomorrow. We will obviously be tired. Chicago is a team I could see the Pleks line taking advantage of. As for all you Kostisyn fans he should get teh call up now that Downey is out of commission.

Great game.
Most players get a plus for tonight. The Bonk line was phenomenal.

It worries me that once Downey was gone, there was no more ruggedness upfront to take care of business.

This was a chance for Latandresse to show he could really fill that void this team has, and once again he failed. He shy's away from traffic, and doesn't use his frame at all.

Gainey must be worried. The Flames could have continued to mix it up, and our forwards would have paid a physical price if it continued.

I'm happy with the physical attributes of our defence, but our forward grit is sadly missing. Nice win, hope the team can recover from a physical match like this.

There's no way Lats has demonstrated he belongs with this club, after tonight.

Garth Murray isn't the answer, he's a band-aid solution. Hope Bob has a trick up his sleeve, because as much as I loved tonights game, I hate to see this team back on its heels because of a lack of grit upfront.

Given that Lats is 19, I always had my misgivings about the decision, was a little surprised by it.

I believe Murray is a part of the solution, but no one player, is the solution.

That was an incredible game! Probaly the best along with the Buffalo game. The Habs displayed a lot of poise and composure and made it know they can handle physical teams , defensive teams and offensives teams so far this year. Unbeaten in regulation we have 2 more game against Western conference teams ( Chicago tomorrow and Colorado saturday )

The good :

-Higgins , once again a monster. And the line didn't let him down.
-Komisarek playing like his bud , showing he can do well night after night.
-Streit played well coming off the healthy scratch list using his body and making good 1st passes, even if he had to work more to make it happen some of our D's should take note.
-Huet made some key saves , had a fairly good game evenif the shots count isin't sexy.
-Kovalev showed up and most importantly: Plekanec finally had a game up to his potential.
-Bonk hard work paid off , was nice to see him get the 1st star.
-The special units
-The hustle and team character overall was impressive.

The bad :

-Huet's play around the net , giving the puck away many times.
-Whole lot of stupid penaltys once again
-When i saw the facial expression on Markov's face after his 1st shift, i knew the game would be long for him.

The ugly :

-Iginla and Phaneuf running around and acting tough after Downey went down but not dropping the gloves when challenged... They should have not scratched Darren McCarty.

"Their team did a good job of getting pucks behind our defence and making our defencemen turn," said Calgary coach Jim Playfair.

Isn't in unbelievable that Calgary won't be back in Montreal for another three years?! THREE YEARS! They really have to redo the schedule format, increasing (doubling) the number of non-conference games.

Looks like we'll have to arrange a meeting in the Stanley Cup Finals and we'll se them 2 or 3 more times this year in Montreal.

The RDS guys said during the game that there has been pression on the NHL about this, people want more games in the west. That 8 inter-division game rules won't create any new rivalry anyway with the Players movement of the the new CBA.

I disagree with the 2nd part.....it does. It creates regional rivalries. And when you face a team 8 times durring the same year....you'll get rivalries. What I could see is dropping it to 7 or maybe 6 games.

Rivalries are only created threw playoff series. Every big rivalry is due to playoffs. Montreal Vs. Boston. Does anyone think Columbus and Nashville will become a rivalry anytime soon?

Our PP now is now 5th in the League while our PK is 2nd. Our special teams are really good.

Someone's calculations are wrong, then. Edmonton's at 90.2% (37/41) and 4th as per NHL.com, which has official stats. There are 3 teams between 90.2% (EDM,DAL) and 90.6% (MTL).

We also lead the league in shorthanded goals for.

The biggest positive I take away from the Calgary game is...we scored 5 goals agianst Kipper and Calgary. That is the first time that Kiprusoff has allowed 5 goals in a non-OT game in his last 46 regular season games. You can throw whatever excuses you want at that, but the fact remains.

It was also nice to see on a night where our first line didn't post any real numbers that we could still score some goals.

Our PK looked great, our PP looked good, both should help us tonight versus Chicago.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!
