Per Corey Pronman, Alan Quine, Alex Lepkowski, Samu Perhonen and Rasmus Bengtsson were all not signed. He seems to feel Quine is a Top 3 round pick on re-draft.

Proman also has Gregory Hofmann, Matt Mahalak, Lars Volden, Dillon Donnelly, Joachim Nermark, Johan Mattsson, Jordan Fransoo, David Honzik, and Pathrik Westerholm going unsigned. Not sure if he's got inside info or if he's just going through the list.

what about Teemu Eronen 2011 7th round pick by St. Louis Blues ? Would be surprise if blues wouldn't sign him.

Interesting that Rutherford said they wanted to sign Hofmann, but couldn't get a deal done.

I thought I'd posted the rest of these yesterday but I guess i forgot.

All per Pronman

I was waiting on this one to be sure. Winnipeg did not sign 2011 4th round pick D Zach Yuen. Think he will certainly be picked as a re draft

This is so surprising.
There must have been some significant contractual complications or some very different values

he'll be repicked, or i'll eat my hat.

A painstaking search through NHL.com confirms the following players went unsigned as their rights are no longer held by an NHL club:
- G Lars Volden (Boston, 6th round, 181st)
- D Alex Lepkowski (Buffalo, 5th round, 137th)
- F Gregory Hofmann (Carolina, 4th round, 103rd)
- G Matt Mahalak (Carolina, 6th round, 163rd)
- G Johan Mattsson (Chicago, 7th round, 211th)
- D Dillon Donnelly (Colorado, 7th round, 183rd)
- F Joachim Nermark (Colorado, 4th round, 93rd)
- F Alan Quine (Detroit, 3rd round, 85th)
- G Samu Perhonen (Edmonton, 3rd round, 62nd)
- D Rasmus Bengtsson (Florida, 2nd round, 59th)
- F Iiro Pakarinen (Florida, 7th round, 184th)
- G Christopher Gibson (Los Angeles, 2nd round, 49th)
- F Michael Schumacher (Los Angeles, 7th round, 200th)
- F Olivier Archambault (Montreal, 4th round, 108th)
- F Daniel Pribyl (Montreal, 6th round, 168th)
- F Brent Andrews (Nashville, 7th round, 202nd)
- D Simon Karlsson (Nashville, 5th round, 142nd)
- D Brenden Kichton (NY Islanders, 5th round, 127th)
- F Mitchell Theoret (NY Islanders, 7th round, 185th)
- D Peter Ceresnak (NY Rangers, 6th round, 172nd)
- F Shane McColgan (NY Rangers, 5th round, 134th)
- D Jordan Fransoo (Ottawa, 7th round, 186th)
- D Colin Suellentrop (Philadelphia, 4th round, 116th)
- F Andrew Fritsch (Phoenix, 6th round, 155th)
- F Alexander Ruuttu (Phoenix, 2nd round, 51st)
- D Justin Sefton (San Jose, 3rd round, 89th)
- D Teemu Eronen (St. Louis, 7th round, 192nd)
- G David Honzik (Vancouver, 3rd round, 71st)
- F Pathrik Vesterholm (Vancouver, 6th round, 180th)
- G Steffen Soberg (Washington, 4th round, 117th)
- D Zachary Yuen (Winnipeg, 4th round, 119th)

Also, a hot topic the past week or so has been F Philippe Hudon (Detroit, 5th round, 145th): NHL.com still has him as property of Detroit, but The Hockey News considers him an "Unsigned 2011 Draft Pick" along with the names listed above. I feel safer siding with NHL.com on this one.

Finally, here are some other players (from Europe\overseas) from drafts prior to 2011 who still had NHL rights this year but have since had them relinquished:
- D Radim Ostrcil (Boston, 6th round, 169th in 2007)
- F Karel Hromas (Chicago, 4th round, 123rd in 2004)
- F Jakub Sindel (Chicago, 2nd round, 54th in 2004)
- F Stanislav Balan (Nashville, 7th round, 209th in 2004)
- F Zdenek Bahensky (NY Rangers, 3rd round, 73rd in 2004)
- G Jakub Kovar (Philadelphia, 4th round, 109th in 2006)
- F Vladimir Ruzicka (Phoenix, 4th round, 103rd in 2007)

One thing is sure, nhl.com is not up to date... Pacan and Birkholz still appear on Florida Roster so as Martin Lojek, Sergei Gayduchenko and others

I think you will see Josh Birkholz, David Pacan, Cam Reid (rumor is Nashville still may sign him), Brad Peltz and William Wrenn lose their NHL rights if not by July 5th then on August 15th. With the exception to Wrenn (who played on an AHL contract with Texas), all the players listed above played on AHL deals with their parent clubs, which isn't out of the ordinary (I find Chicago is pretty notorious for this, see: Peter LeBlanc, who played 2 years on an AHL deal with Rockford before being rewarded an NHL contract. Also see: Joe Charlebois, who played 1 year on an AHL deal with Rockford, but was not awarded an NHL contract).

As for Marin Lojek, he becomes an Unrestricted Free Agent on July 5th. And Sergei Gayduchenko was drafted out of Russia in 2007, so his rights are held indefinitely due to the lack of a transfer agreement.

In addition to the weird press release from Carolina where they talked about Hofmann not signing, I've never seen a team offer critiques of the players they refused to sign on their own website before. Usually you get the standard "We were short roster spots" or "He didn't develop the way we'd envisioned", but you don't usually see this.

http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=672877

Quote:
Honzik, the Canucks third round selection (71st overall), struggled this past season to find consistency in the QMJHL. A trade to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, combined with off-season shoulder surgery that caused him to miss training camp and the first two months of the season, didn’t help his cause. The native of Tabor, Czech Republic, faced an astonishing 11.52 shots per 20 minutes in 12/13. Honzik, 19, will re-enter the draft later this month.
Quote:
esterholm, the Canucks sixth round selection (180th overall), has spent the last three seasons in Sweden’s second-tier pro league. During the 2010/11 season the Karlskrona, Sweden native produced .62 points/per-game, which then declined to .21 in 11/12 and .50 this past season.
It's a weird move. The guys already have to feel like crap, why bury them further? It would be like listing all the UFAs you don't re-sign then saying about how their numbers have declined. Odd.

I agree. I wonder if the Canucks feel a need to do this because their prospect pool is relatively thin and they're worried about the media and fan base asking why they didn't sign these players when they had the chance.

Per Capgeek, San Jose has signed RW Petter Emanuelsson. Emanuelsson, 21, is coming off a season in which he put up 9 goals and 9 assists for 18 points in 54 games with Skelleftea of the Elitserien. Emanuelsson, who stands 6'0", 200 lbs, was never drafted. The deal is for 2 years with a cap hit of $783,750.

Typical Isles signing, another Boston related kid. He plays hahd and smaht.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Thomas Larkin to a two-year, entry level contract through the 2014-15 season, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Larkin, 22, was Columbus’ fourth pick, 137th overall, at the 2009 NHL Draft. The 6-5, 221-pound blueliner appeared in seven games with the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons in 2012-13, recording 1-0-1 and two penalty minutes.
I'd heard this signing was coming a while back.
