Radulov in Milwaukee Updates

Alex just had a 1goal and 4 *** night!
I've watch him for the last 2 years in québec and he's a real hard worker and he'll prove a lot of people wrong. IMO he should be in the big club, but instead of putting his head down, i think he'll just keep working and he'll be back in nashville by christmas.

While I don't want to put too much emphasis on plus/minus, but what was his for the game?

Radulov IS the real deal. Watched him live the last two home games. I hope they don't send him up - but I am sure Trotz will...hey, that's the deal for us in Milwaukee, eh?
Peace.

Question for you Preds fans then, who would you get rid of to make room for Radulov?

After this season, Paul Kariya will go elsewhere and Alexander Radulov will win NHL Rookie of the Year next season. And with the money saved from not re-signing Kariya, we can get a good veteran defenseman. We'll trade Marek Zidlicky to make room for him. Just ruminating...

Anyhoo...

i don't see us trading zidlicky at his bargain price. and i don't know that we'll have to "make room" for a defenseman, either.

picked up another goal tonight in a 4-1 ads win, and was named third star.

scott reid got the first start tonight, and i'm guessing will be getting the starts from now on.

Reid will most likely start from now on...Looked okay in the last three relief appearances, the first game notwithstanding as he had no help in front of him...He covers alot more net than Goehring as well...just a fact. Goehring will be gone as soon as Noel and Poille can find a young prospect and get him here from Juniors/UHL...

Good stuff on Radulov. This is exactly what we needed to see: Radulov having his way with the AHL. Can't wait until he gets the call to Nashville.

I tend to think we should just go ahead and trade Upshall. Trotz isn't playing him anyway so might as well try to get something back for him. I thought he was great in pre-season but Fiddler/Nichol have played more than Upshall so far.

Don't be upset... he had 75 points in his rookie year in the Q... then look what happened.

As I posted up in the MilAds thread. Radulov is the AHL player of the Week one week in. 3 games - 7 points. Actually, only 2 of his three games qualified him.

Press Clipping...

Milwaukee, WI – The American Hockey League announced today that Milwaukee Admirals right wing Alexander Radulov has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending October 15, 2006. In two games last week, Radulov tallied two goals and four assists for six assists along with a plus-3 rating.

On Friday night, Radulov became the first Admirals player to record five points in a game since the team joined the AHL in 2001. He scored one goal and assisted on four others, having a hand in all of Milwaukee 's offense during a 7-5 loss to visiting Chicago . The next night, Milwaukee paid the Wolves a visit and Radulov broke a scoreless tie with his third goal of the season, sparking the Admirals to a 5-1 win.

In recognition of his achievement, Radulov will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Admirals home game.

A native of Nizhny Tagil , Russia , Radulov was Nashville 's first-round selection (15th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old rookie now has three goals and four assists for seven points in three games with Milwaukee . Last season, he was named the Canadian Major Junior Player of the Year after leading the entire Canadian Hockey League with 91 assists and 152 points in 62 games for Quebec (QMJHL). Radulov added 55 points in 23 playoff contests, and was named tournament MVP as the Remparts captured the Memorial Cup championship.

I got to see the Ads play Saturday night in Chicago. I was four rows behind the Ads bench. Radulov is the real deal. The thing I was impressed the most about him was he was always into the game on the bench. He was standing usually and you could just tell he wanted to play ALL the time.

I remember watching him and he was turned to the coach waiting to go on the ice. The coach obviously called someone else's name and Radu was just like "darn. I wish it were me. I want to be out there.".

He'll be in Nashville soon.

Was the exact same thing in Quebec, exept that he would get about 30-35 mins of ice time

also what impressed me most is the fact that radu missed about 2-3 games in 2 years due to injury (touching woods) but that dude in strong. True the Q isnt the biggest hitting league, but still!!

That kid always wants to be on the ice, have the puck, and score. Incredible
