You're right, Elliott is a goalie who has actually proven himself at the NHL level where as Bishop hadn't when he was traded.

Your argument that Elliott could only fetch a 6th or 7th rounder is so wrong, and so unnecessary too.

You don't just throw away depth for 6th or 7th round picks just to make a deal. Your entire proposal makes absolutely zero sense.

Proven to be an awful goalie in any other system other than the Blues

Elliott could fetch a third easily. No higher.

I wouldn't though, he was awful in Ottawa.

Even if that's the case, what benefit do the Blues get by trading Elliott for a 6th or 7th round pick? Please explain to me this great logic.

He won't be traded unless they can get at least a decent 2nd-3rd rounder for him. Otherwise there's no point.

He's proven he can't stop a shot that isn't fired from the point or from an outside angle on the rush.

2009-2010 Ottawa Senators, wasn't awful, but thanks.

I'm not saying he would be as good on another team as he is here. I never have said that. But he's not nearly as bad as you think he is and you're delusional if you think he'd only pull a 6th rounder in a trade.

If Leighton needed a 3rd to pull in Mason, how does Elliott get higher than a 5th?

Elliott is not good for the growth of the younger goalies!! We need Allen in NHL A.S.A.P.

No we don't. Allen can be the starter in the AHL for another year.

It's time he gets a job backing up for the Blues. It's way better for his development and he's just as good as Elliott already.

Well yeah, if your keen on stunting the confidence and progression he has been stockpiling all last year.

Nah, contrary to what those blowhards up north think, we're not paranoid of them and what they do

No, I just love Reaves and he is a perfect fit. Thornton is probably out of the picture after this season and this team, despite playing in two Cup Finals in three years, needs some more infusion of heart/toughness/grit or whatever.

So not playing the majority of games is better for his development?

Allen was great for us, but he's not some god in net. He helped get the team back on track, but it's not like he was fantastic in net. Elliott was better down the stretch.
