I thought it was a sketchy move, too, but he was coming off a recent Vezina nomination.

I can't wait to see Bryz's first interview with a Russian paper.

Miller will just plagiarize it like he did last time.

I didn't loathe Bryzgalov like so many, but I'm just tired of the circus. Just get ready for the media to start throwing Giroux under the bus.

It's bittersweet, the cirus is over but the jokes about this club's inability to have a solid netminder or handle them correctly is painfull to watch year in and year out

This is exactly what I'm bracing for.

The vultures will be circling again, they just need a new target and another disappointing season. Giroux seems like a good choice or you could always go with the reliable goaltender controversy.

I wonder how this whole disaster would have played out, if Chris Pronger were healthy. We'll never know, but that thought just popped into my head.

Your saying it yourself. we have a "really YOUNG core". And we had one before these current guys too if you remember that we decided to dump to change the what did they call it? yea, the "culture". as if their great role models in management making such thoughtful decisions on contracts and then lying to almost every player and agent constantly which on one hand is business but on the other hand shows me they can't see a foot in front of their face. I really feel like their thrown darts at a board. I hope your right and our youth continues to grow and reach full potential but my point is there's no evidence to show this teams gonna be given the 3 years or so it needs let alone five minutes. we're insanely knee jerk. I really am mad aint i? i just can't believe richards, gagne, and carter went and won a cup in LA and bobrovsky won the vezina both five seconds after they left. what can you do tho? i'll keep paying them for my tickets and jerseys and hoping to god that at some point i do see this plan your talking about.

Like how Holmgren in his presser admitted Bryz was a "mistake" and a costly one...but then again kind of self evident.

I like how some here bash the Philly media like Seravalli and Randy Miller for writing negative stories about Bryz, how bad they are, and they are terrible writers, yet harness themselves to the media and the article about Snider being the one behind the decision to bring Bryz in.

Not that I don't think Snider wasn't the one who gave the order to get a goalie, cause I do, I just find it funny about the double standards that some have.

Edit: Thank the heavens Bryz and his terrible contract no longer count against our cap.

Can you believe that Simmonds has out produced and has been a better player than Richards since that trade? Not to mention we got Schenn and Grossmann in that deal also.

Do you believe that Voracek is a better player than Jeff Carter? Not to mention we got Couturier and Cousins in that deal also.

Reverse those trades now I guarantee we wouldn't have won the cup the past two seasons and this team would be in significantly worse shape then in is now. Your going to drive yourself crazy worrying about how LA won the cup last year forever if you don't just move on.

We won both of those trades by a wide margin. Time to move on.

Mason will be the whipping boy if he is the starter, but Giroux is about to get crazy expensive which will mean he is going to be scrutinized beyond belief.

Yup. I'm sure LA would gladly take Simmer, Schenn and Grossmann for him. And our team would be awful

first of all, i was already insane before LA won the cup. i just want to add to this team at this point tho, not subtract by trading or making any more big moves but who knows? couterier, schenn and grossmann could all wind up being busts for us. couturier and schenn have shown flashes of brilliance and also have played like complete crap at times (sorta like bryzgalov) which is expected at their age and size. grossmann's been hurt a lot (and with a concussion or two to boot) so far in the year we've had him. Carter and Richards were evaluated by our crack team of specialists coming to the conclusion that they were incapable of winning because of their mentality, attitude, whatever. of course voracek looks great but he alone is not great. giroux can turn crap into gold and I'm not saying he's crap but hartnell had some damn good success with him too. I like our team and i like a lot of moves he's made but i don't trust this team to stay together long because they show no patience. That is all I'm saying here.

People criticize them for their tmz like articles they've been producing for the last couple of years now not just with Bryz. I don't think the second part falls under that category.

Snider personally said it with his name on it during an interview. Saying Bryz fell asleep during a meeting with an unnamed source and no proof behind it is what people criticize them for it has nothing to do with hockey as an example.

If you want a double standard, how about all the people on here who bashed them for the way they treated Richards & Carter and then turned around took their word as gospel when it came to Bryz because he's a ****y goaltender.

There are people here who are just consistent with their bashing of the media regardless of who the player is they are targeting with these articles.

Can't argue with anything you said. I bet couturier and Schenn will pan out. This core of guys will contend. Have some patience. We waited this long already...

???

He was probably their best player this post-season and had a productive season (roughly 60 points in a full season)

Don't bother, I went through this with a couple Flyers fans earlier in the playoffs. I really don't know where they're pulling all this. Keep in mind he came back from a concussion this season too and started the season out of shape.

No one said anything to the contrary. I still didn't see the steep decline in play some are referring too. It may happen soon but not yet IMO. That's not to say he's the same player he was here but not nearly as bad as people are making him out to be. He's still a good player.
