First time I saw this...this hits me hard because I have a 19-year-old son also who has some medical issues as well, but nothing like what this kid is going through.

Incredibly touching. Matt Kemp is not just a special player, but a special person.

and its too bad that his teammates aren't doing crap when he gets on base, he's doing all himself

Quote:
despite reaching base 14 times in the lead off spot, the only four runs he scored are when he drove himself in

Congratulations to the UCLA Bruins on their first College Baseball Championship and 109th total Championship in UCLA history.

They had a King-esque run to the title.

Weakest competition I've seen in years. Did the Bruins even face any offensive teams? The 1998 USC Trojans would beat this Bruins team any day of the week.

Used to be a big baseball fan, would live and die by the Dodgers in the '70s and '80s.

Now I don't even watch the games, only check the standings once a week or so. Amazing how growing up and old changes your perspective on things.

I will be attending some Dodger and Angel games this year, but only because daughter likes baseball and I can't get her to go to hockey games to save my life.

How sad is this?

The Los Angeles Lakers want Dwight Howard to re-sign and don't care who knows it.

The team unveiled a massive banner on the side of Staples Center on Wednesday with a photo of Howard and one message: "Stay."

The sign is one of "six or seven" billboards the Lakers plan on putting up in "various key locations" in order to try to woo the free agent to be, according to team spokesman John Black. The Lakers also unveiled a billboard above Hollywood Boulevard with the same message. Both signs include the hashtag "STAYD12," hoping the message catches on through social media. Black said the team will also take out a full-page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times.
Imagine the Kings doing this for Rob Scuderi.

What a joke.

It's a sign of weakness. I can't even imagine the Lakers groveling like that.

Oh, yes I can, considering they totally alienated me this past season. Jimmy ain't no Jerry, that's for damn sure.

Jim Buss is a joke. His meddling and disastrous decisions are going to run the Lakers into the ground. The organization is going to be such a mess when Kobe retires and they have nobody remotely close to stepping in to replace Kobe or Pau or the departing crybaby Dwight Howard. Hell, they still haven't been able to replace Fish (yeah I know, Steve Nash, but that would be like the Kings bringing in Chris Chelios to replace Rob Scuderi).

They need to trash the team for a complete rebuild. But they know Laker fans won't put up with it. I have been telling Laker fans this past season that the Clippers are going to rule the roost for the next several years, but they don't want to believe it.

I guess delusion and denial walk hand in hand.

Why is there no sign and trade talks with Howard? You cant mortgage everything to get him and then let him walk. That and the choice of coach when the roster wasnt close to built for his scheme is just another nail Jim Buss has driven into the laker coffin in pursuit of marketing Cash.
