The Jackets are backing up the Brinks truck. That would be great to get those guys. I just don't see how it could happen though.

Don't expect Edmonton to be making huge moves in free agency. MacT has already said that he is opposed to overpaying free agents.

The 2 that are very likely would be Boyd Gordon and Anton Khudobin.

Jones is gone, likely to Minni.

Fistric is 50/50 at this point. He makes us harder to play against which is something badly needed.

I just wanted to chime in. As someone said previously, Raymond's agent has already said that Vancouver has cut ties with him. So he wont be re-signing with the Canucks. Also, I like that people have put Morrow/Horton/Cullen to Vancouver.

Edit: Some people don't have ANY FA's coming to Vancouver... Do you honestly think that? Or did you forget about us...? Ironically most of posters are from the east :O

I think Matt Cullen makes a lot of sense if and only IF we move or lose peverley and kelly... he could come in and be a cheap UFA play 3rd line center for soderberg and (who I assume/ hope for) knight.

Some of you have Koivu comming home to Montreal. While I doubt it would happen, I would LOVE it if it did....He deserves to retire at home....

I see a lot of Roszival or Zidlicky to Detroit going on here.

Just FYI, Detroit has seven one way d-man under contract.

Niklas Kronwall
Jonathan Ericsson
Brendan Smith (Qualified RFA)
Kyle Quincey
Jakub Kindl (Qualified RFA)
Carlo Colaiacovo
Brain Lashoff

This doesn't even include Danny DeKeyser the reason they are shopping Carlo. This group was also just 5th in terms of GAA in the league before you dump on them really hard. So what is listed doesn't function as upgrades.

Now they might trade for a top 3 D-man according to Holland, but he doubts he will find a fit in terms of trading partners.

In short though in terms of this thread, none of the guys listed here defensively are likely to be pursued. It makes no sense, especially the two most often being connected to Detroit here.

My thinking was that if he was living there it would be pretty nice for him to go back there. It really would be going home.

It has been years, I wonder how he would feel about going back to Montreal to finish his career, some players don't want to do that because they are angry about being let go in the first place and some still would love that opportunity, and then some just don't have feelings about it either way and are just happy to be where someone wants them.

I couldn't agree with that part more....most people have the Wild signing nobody which considering how most teams have little or no cap space is interesting.

Prediction: The Wild will buyout Tom Gilbert ($4M); and trade Clutterbuck and a 2nd round pick to move into the 1st round on Sunday. This will give the Wild approximately $10m in cap space allowing them to pursue Roy, Weiss or re-sign Cullen.

I also said in my UFA Predictions that Hossa will be bought out by the Hawks and sign with TO.

Not a chance in hell to the bolded. Its not even a good joke.
Added my thoughts on the others.

Actually, on second thought, we should :

1 - Sign him, then lock him in a room with Neil, Smith, Kassian, and Cowen. Then they leave and he is locked in the room with a rabid pit bull.
2 - Film it, sell it to Sens fans, we rejoice and it becomes our pre-game video playing at every home game.
3 - Profit.

The only FA I see the Leafs signing is David Clarkson and maybe resign MacArthur. No use in throwing cash at everyone for no reason.

I really don't see Columbus bringing in Bryz to back up Bob. Those guys aren't exactly best buds.
