I don't see how y'all are blaming Huet for these goals. They've been caused by defensive breakdowns, not shoddy goaltending.
I will agree on one thing, though: Kovalev needs to get it in gear. He should've scored on that play.
You cant blame Huet but we are used to better goaltending than this with him. Montreal needs more than a goalie that doesn't do anything special. Abby has been better so far this season at making those kinds of saves
I continue to be impressed with the Habs. I'm usually not one to hype my own team, but if I were to admit that I think the Sabres are the class of the Eastern Conference, I'd say our biggest threat is within our own division. And it's not Ottawa.
Johnson and Bonk have really meshsed well. Two great passes to Bonkers from Johnson tonight. WHY did Phoenix give this guy up? Great defensively, strong along the boards even if he isn't very physical and just makes smart plays all over the ice.
And, Bonkers? It looks like his hands are coming back. A great move, a great shot.
I just saw the Kovy goal again on TSN replays. I can watch that goal all night. What a great move. He can really fool people on that fake pass to the D and open up all kinds of ice for him. He played better without samsonov.
You are certainly correct about Johnson. He is a much better complimentary player than bulis ever was.
By the way, Plekanec assisted on both of Kovy's beauts this season. I look for more of the same from him. He'll do more for Kovy than Ribeiro ever did.
Couldn't agree more. Pleks brings speed, a willingness to play in traffic, defensive effort and a terrific work ethic, and while he may not have Ribs vision what he does have is a great short passing game. He can make solid passes in traffic, whether it's along the wall or in front of the net. I like him and Kov together. I think as the season goes on they'll just play better together.
