Of course they wouldn't. Successful goalie? They should look elsewhere.

I think best trade partner for Sabres with Miller is St. Louis. Just a gut. Hitch always has a short shelf life. St. Louis needs to go for the Cup soon.

I wonder if there is a three way deal which could be worked out in which we send Miller to Philly and bring Luongo here. I think we could come away with multiple good, young assets in a deal like this.

And then buy out Lou?

They could do whatever they wanted with him. Craig Button, on WGR yesterday, thought the Canucks would have to add a really nice piece to any team willing to take him.

Buy him out, surely. In fact, it's the only way I could see someone taking him on, and only a few teams would have the means.

So, just to be clear, you're suggesting we gain other assets in the part of the trade that brings Luongo here, because we're buying him out. We're not trading away stuff for Luongo like he's an asset.

I believe that's correct. He's saying Van recognizes they will have to include assets along with Lou to whomever they trade him to.

What's the love affair for 27 year old Matt Read? I want a younger player for a goalie like Miller. Couts took a HUGE step back last year. I'm so conflicted about what to do It's awful.

Hearing Flyers have had discussions with the Buffalo Sabres regarding Ryan Miller. Flyers are def. up to something with Buyout of Bryz.

duh.

I've never felt something makes more sense than Miller to Philly right now. To me, it was all dependent on the buyout, once they said they were going to do it, it all just comes down to the deal and who is coming back.

I will be shocked if it doesn't happen.

Miller (50%), Sekera, 16th for Read & Couts

Simplify it:

Miller (50%) + 16

for

Couturier

Homer says B. Schenn and Couturier are untouchable. #flyers

Well if Buffalo goalies to Philly history is any indicator ...

Biron to Philly ... No cup

Then Miller to Philly ... No cup

Do it!

Didn't he also said Carter and Richards were untouchable? And then trades both in one day?

I think Sekera adds enough "umph" to make the deal happen because they need young, proven, cheap defense too.

That is not even close. It's basically saying the difference between Miller and Couts is like a 2nd round pick.

So that's roughly a 20 goal pace on an 82 game schedule and that's in a small sample size with a high shooting percentage: 21.1% in the regular season, 17.1% in the playoffs.

In his favor, he was getting a very, very small TOI in the reg season as is common for KHL rookies: 08:20 in the reg season and 12:22 in the playoffs.

Bear in mind the total I gave up there included more playoff games than reg season games.
Whatever site I saw this on then had it wrong - it definitely said 16 goals in 42 games.

Only way I do this is if Monahan and Lindholm are already off the board at #8.
