too many softees. OKT needs to be in Predators gold because we need to restore our toughness. Yip and Weber only when he wants to get mad isn't gonna cut it. Yea, Clune will do some work but this guy would only increase teams hate to play us. Its something we need.

OKT is a good signing for Nashville's third pairing. He'll play a similar role to what Mark Fraser played with the Leafs.

Glad to see that he's fine tuned his skills and is ready to face NHL competition again.

I've seen no word that he is coming from anything remotely resembling an official source.

No official source to cite, but I've heard he is coming and know the Preds have wanted him since last season.

Well that's probably better than at least half the official sources! Shaping up to be a weird summer for our defense- feel like we are missing a true top 4 but are setting up to have a huge logjam on bottom pairing. Personally, I'd still like to trade Gil and I'd like for Ek to get a shot at playing time.

1st pairing: Weber, Josi
2nd pairing: Klein
3rd pairing: Ellis, Gill, Bartley, OKT, Blum, Ekholm

This seems like the writing on the wall for at least one, likely two, of our dmen. If I had to guess, Gill and Blum won't be back in gold. Keep in mind that is 9 NHL Dmen IF we don't trade for/sign anyone else. Way too many bottom pairing guys. Fenton said he expects Ekholm to win a spot on the big club, FWIW.

All current indications now are that Tollefsen will stay in Europe and play with Preds prospects Pontus Åberg and Max Gortz in Färjestads next season in the SEL.

I have always liked Gill as a penalty killing specialist but he is limited in every other way. I would say it depends on whether he can be replaced by an Ekholm.

I believe talks ended because his family had second thoughts about moving to the US.

Since I started this thread, I ask a mod to close it, as it is no longer relevant.

Read a rumor on twitter that Tollefsen was close to signing with Nashville, but an injury has stopped the process, because Tollefsen needs surgery and is out 4-6 months.

Not sure if it's anything in it though.

I saw that as well, the guy who retweeted it is pretty reliable, so I believe it @steffeg
