I'm all for eliminating concussions, but the guy made the critical play that ended up winning the Hawks a championship. It's not like he was out there hiding an injury and risking his health in meaningless games. He played one final game and has the whole summer to recover while soaking his feet in Stanley Cup.
There has to be a balance between being cautious with his health, and also being able to pursue his dreams.

As of right now all of the concussion stuff seems to be speculation after the Boychuk hit and people reading into the "got his bell rung" line by Q. Based on what we saw it seems like they sat him in Game 5 as a precaution and then was cleared for Game 6. Who knows if we'll ever find out whether that's accurate or not. Unless Toews holes up in a dark room all summer and/or misses the beginning of the season next year I doubt anyone who's in the know will pipe up and actually reveal what the diagnosis was.
Unfortunately we've seen what Toews looks like playing concussed and it doesn't look how he did last night. I know that doesn't mean much but I think it's fair to give him the benefit of the doubt in this instance and trust that they took the appropriate steps.
Beyond stupid if any player dressed with a concussion.
It is, and I agree. Though still not as as beyond stupid as the NHL is for allowing the hit that concussed him to go "rewarded". If Shanahan and his cronies are serious about preventing head shots and concussions then they clearly are idiots
