Don't see him going past 3/4 realistically.
I agree with Jame on this one.....

The scenario is possible.

colorado is a wild card
Florida wants a center
tampa Bay is a wild card
Nashville needs a #1 Center.
Carolina needs Defense, winger
Calgary BPA
Edmonton Defense, Center

Colorado and Tampa Bay already have #1 Centers so they could be picking elsewhere....they still could take the BPA which happenes to be a center.

Did you overlook Zykov or do you not think he is a 1st rounder? I would be very happy to grab him at #38, but I would be surprised to find him in the 2nd.

I don't think Drouin is a "sell the farm" type guy. But, I wouldn't complain if the cost was right. We might have the centers in place....grabbing a possibly elite-level winger wouldn't hurt matters.

Would you sell the farm for Kane? He is nearly identical to him IMO.

The farm? No.

I'm more in the Jame camp in that an elite #1C or an elite #1D is worth selling the farm for, but a winger isn't.

My issue with trading up for Drouin: trading up for him would kind of make sense as long as we're not ditching Grigorenko or Hodgson. And I'm not sure we can trade up without giving up one of them.

Still don't see how he slips past 4 at the lowest.

Colorado - are probably considering him but behind Jones/MacKinnon
Florida - may want a C, but if Mack goes first can only seriously pick Barkov, and even that is a bit of a reach. Have to be considering two of the big 3 that fall to them.
Tampa - Drouin is a perfect pick for them, especially if first two gone are Mack/Jones
Nashville - probably looking at Barkov, but if he's gone it means that one of the big 3 are still there... so they take him or trade the pick to someone who will overpay to do so.

Nichuskhin is the only other wild card for me, and even then I don't see both him and Barkov cracking the top 4.

It certainly isn't my preference either - believe me!

It's just how I think it's going to go down...my attempt at getting the most picks correct.

I have him in the early second round, I almost put him with Vancouver(24) or Columbus(27) but I went with Rychel and Hagg instead. I would be surprised if he was there at 38 mainly because I do have him as a first round talent that I just had a difficult time placing.

I would def do 8+16 and a prospect. Not gut the system by any means but thats a solid offer

I guess he could fall like Colberg did last year but I just don't see it with him. I see between 15-25 with Zykov, would not be mad if the Sabres took him at 16.

As long as the prospect/player isn't CoHo, Grigo, Girgs, Ennis or Armia....I'm good with that offer.

Monahan and Zadarov would be a very decent haul. Can't think of too many if any I'd realistically prefer in each scenario (players left at both 8 and 16).

I take Nichushkin/Nurse over Domi all day. Nice work though.

Also, I think Florida is taking a center no matter what. Either Mac or Barkov.

1- Col: Mackinnon
2- Fla: Barkov
3- TB: Drouin
4- Nas: Lindholm
5- Car: Jones
6- Cal: Monahan
7- Edm: Nurse
8- BUF: Nichushkin

Jones falls to 5th.

It would be Drouin if it's any of them. I could see:

COL: Mackinnon
FLA: Barkov
TAM: Nichuskin
NSH: Jones
CAR: Drouin

Really depends if Nichuskin makes it into the top 3 or not.
