Would take Jagr at a year then Zuccarello at 3. No question.

Jagr ain't gonna sign for a 1.5 million cap hit.

you forgot to add "doesn't fight"

It's better to sign someone 26-32 years old because they are younger even though they wouldn't outproduce Jagr/Briere/Iginla in a 3rd line RW role.

I just posted this in the Canes 5th thread on the main board, but how about Staal+Boyle+3rd (maybe) for 5th overall+McBain. Works really well if we sign Lapierre.

Staal is worth more than the 5th+McBain by himself.

Rather have Faulk instead of McBain but they would take more.

I'm not so sure. I mean, he's a great player, but who knows how he'll be without full vision.

A 75% Staal is worth more than the 5th and McBain.

And?

Do the Rangers want to play a puck possession game or not?

If they do, they should be signing Zuccarello, and looking to sign Jagr.

ding ding ding... so true... i think we keep our core and keep similar team - richards hopefully and i actually want to resign clowe.. it think hes the risk worth take.. guy has some left in the tank and a 2yr 4m deal is worth it... otherwise let young guys battle for spots in the lineup and wait till 14' FAs when theyres more for the picking and younger and better!!

I think Boyle used on the 4th line, for the PK, and Dzone face offs is the perfect role for him. Trade Pyatt and Ashem for picks and sign Nystrom. Let Haley or someone like that for the 13th forward. Fourth line of

Nystrom - Boyle - Dorset

Nystrom adds an element to the bottom six that this team was missing. That and a full season of Dorsett. That is a good energy line that can pop the occasional goal, has speed, and hits.

Wouldnt be opposed to that but I think Lapierre is better and can be signed for cheap

They are not trading Boyle if he is slated to be the 4th line center.

I get that we need to revamp our bottom-6, but if we are signing a guy to play there from FA, we need to pay him like a bottom 6er. If we cant do that, then fine, I'd rather bring up a kid. When you pay these guys more than their worth it defeats the purpose entirely.

Then we don't do the trade. But you wanted to add Boyle and a 3rd. Not worth it on any level.
