By the way he phrased his comments, Dreger unintentionally gave the impression that there was a connection to Edmonton. Then people speculated and quoted him out of context, so now the baseless RNH for Gardiner idea is floating around. Not our fault! Blame the corporate media rumour mill!

No one is even implying that Toronto would get RNH for Gardiner. You Oilers fans are out of control, so arrogant in every trade thread acting like your team is the best thing since sliced bread.

Gives Toronto a center they are looking for. Edmonton would probably have to add in the deal.

I forgot how good Edmonton's defence is! Gardiner couldn't even come close to cracking your D!

I'm sorry but aren't Leafs fans the people who suggest something like:

Gardiner+Grabovski

for

Gagner+7th

Or am I missing something here?

It does not give Toronto the Centre they are looking for, but yes, a Centre. And of course Edmonton would have to add something to that.

And some of us in TO think the proposal is just as ridiculous as you do.. try not to paint us all with the same brush.

Can't see RNH going anywhere.. Jake is another story.. just not to EDM.

ONE Leafs fan suggested this. It's doesn't make it a good proposal, and it certainly doesn't mean we all agree with him!

There are hundreds of thousands of Leafs fans, so when ONE GUY makes a bad proposal, it doesn't mean that all Leafs fans agree.

So yes, you're missing something here.

It makes much more sense than the Oilers dealing RNH.

Of course. I am missing the part where Oilers fans are the ones being arrogant and thinking our team is the best thing since sliced bread.

But I do see leafs fans acting like that. Problem?

Gardiner is the one true piece the Leafs have that could net them a top 1 or 2 centre. They have depth at the defensive position in the minors and you could package him to acquire a top centre. I would not consider Nugent Hopkins a top centre as of yet, and he seems really brittle. I would focus on Gardiner + to get true #1 centre, if any are actually available.

What Leafs fans are acting like they are the best thing in here? Because one guy made a proposal that you all don't agree with? It's you guys acting like your team is the **** in every single thread because you've had a bunch of high draft picks with no success yet, shooting down offers and making ridiculous claims like Gardiner being an AHL player.

All the Oilers fans on here think RNH is the best player in the NHL. He hasnt proven anything yet except his ability to get injured. Saying Jake Gardiner is a valuable trade asset really isnt farfetched at all.
