Don't want Coburn anywhere near this team. Guy is a pylon. Atleast Buf is a pylon that puts up points, and scores big time goals.

Coburn, one of the swiftest skating defensemen in the league, is a pylon? Oooooook...

Your right, I was being to generous. A pylon sometimes gets in the way at least.

Coburn struggled last year, but skating isn't his problem.

All jokes aside. We could get a more USEFUL return for Byfuglien, not saying better, but a forward. We need a 2nd line winger or 2nd line centre. Thats all I can see Chevy considering to trade the big man for.

If you are going to troll, at least troll the guy's actual deficiencies, which are several.

Coburn is an above average one-way defenseman. He gets himself in trouble when he tries to be more than that. He's not going to put up offense--but in a properly constructed pairing, he doesn't need to.

I'd be pretty happy if the Flyers slid back a few spots and picked up an extra pick, but I don't think that the Buff/Coburn swap makes a lot of sense.

Wish Flyers went after Bogosian a while back. He's the only one I'd want from Winnipeg but I'm sure he's almost untouchable at this point.

It would be interesting to see the leagues most aggressive GM and the leagues most conservative GM make a trade.

No offense intended, but I'm not sure I could run any faster in the opposite direction from that. No reason to trade for Pavelec instead of signing someone for free.

We cannot give up our 1st round pick for Byfuglien. We need to draft a defenseman. We aren't contenders right now, so we are better off grabbing the young prospect than going for an older Byfuglien.

No. This is just more short-sightedness. Not interested in trading the 11th for a veteran who won't put this team over the top anyway.

It is AMAZING how underrated Buff is around here.

Also, we can get a better deal than that.

The downgrade on D is not worth moving up 2 spots and a 3rd.

before this turns into another huge thread of jets/flyers fans arguing over player value and calling each other stupid.. can well all just agree this doesnt really work for either team?

consensus seems flyers fans dont want buff... (unless phi mgmt says they want him we have no reason to believe they do either) . . so the idea of their first being involved is not going to fly

jets fans feel buff can get a much better return (maybe true, maybe not, nobody knows at this point, its all just opinion) so they will want more

seems to sum it up. way too many jets/flyers proposals

Easy no from the Jets. Buff is much more valuable than Coburn, and the 2 pick upgrade and a 3rd don't cover it.

Doesn't mean Flyers fans have to want to do the trade if they don't think Buff is the player for their team, but that also doesn't mean that the OP is good value to the Jets, because it's not.

I think you miss-read the original post. Philly gets the #13 overall...so drops 2 spots. And instead of a defensive minded D-man, they get an offensive one. And as far as age, they are both 28...1 month age difference.
