I'm mentally preparing myself for Joe Pavelski being traded for Perron and a prospect.

Sharks lose that deal big time, Pavelski is way more valuable than Perron.

He thinks he's a hotshot. He's constantly going offside or making his teammates go offside by dancing around the blueline instead of just carrying the puck in.

I think it'd definitely be in our best interest to swap him for a center of similar age and production (Pavelski and Plekanec for example are names we've discussed in the past). We'd want a deal around Kesler from Vancouver (realize we'd have to add but that's really all that interests me).

I personally think Perron belongs in the East, that'd suit his style more. No interest in Desharnais though so don't even bother with him.
Totally agree!!!!!! He is a great player on 90% of the rest of the league. Hope for him, to get dealt

I've been praying for Perron + for Pavelski. I absolutely love Joe Pa and I think Perron would fit in nicely with the Sharks.

Would be a win-win IMO

Perron is still a great player. Had an off year this year, but the year before scored 21 goals in 57 games and before that scored 5 in 10. He's a great player capable of a 25g 30a or more stat sheet, yet he just doesn't fit into Hitchcock's system.

I'd love to get Pavelski, and him for perron and a 2nd is great value, yet it would leave the blues without picks in the top 2 rounds.

Maybe Pavelski + 2013 7th for Perron + 2014 2nd +2014 4th.

Seems like a draft pick mess, but I doubt the blues head into the draft without a pick in the top 2 rounds.

I agree. Sharks need to keep Pavelski. The problem is the Sharks really need a player like Perron, is there anything else the Blues would want within reason?

There are three things that make sense of any kind for the Blues to acquire in a Perron deal:
An upgrade in net
A scoring line center
Perron+ for an upgrade on wing (left)

I guess I could see the Blues moving Perron and Russell/Cole for a package that includes an upgrade lefty d-man and a third line center, but I don't think that's Armstrong's style.

I was actually thinking the same thing - hard to see Army going without a pick in either of the first two rounds this year. If the 2nd was in NEXT year's draft, I'm all over it.

Eh, we need centers. It'd be Pavelski or we add more for Thornton.

Armstrong looks like he is going strong for a center, I like it. Hopefully we get a playmaking center to get Stewart or Tarasenko to the next level.

If true, why is he still 5'6"?

i have a feeling we're gonna see a repeat of brad boyes; where he falls for a little while before a team takes a chance on him and he gets back in the groove.

I thought David Perron hated Joe Thornton, a Sharks trade would never happen

Perron has been shopped for years, he was offered to BOS for Kessel.

My 12 year old brother could score 20 goals on Tavares' wing.

Yes, because you know whether or not Perron is being shopped as opposed to one of the most tuned in insiders in hockey. Laugh at people who say this in every thread. He's reporting rumblings and rumours, and they're just that; rumours. Not all of them come true. This isn't Eklund, this guy breaks trades constantly.

Honestly, Dreger is probably right. We know Armstrong is going to be exploring the trade market more than the free agent market. The Blues have a surplus of wingers, so it was either going to be Perron or Stewart.

He's just confirming what Blues fans have been believing for quite awhile.

Would St Louis consider something around Gagner for Perron? Yeah yeah Gagner sux defensively and is worth a 2nd rounder blahblahblah. Honestly with two high level defensive centers in Backes and Berglund, I think St Louis could afford to have an offensively oriented 2nd liner. Edmonton needs some size and physicality in the top 6. Pieces can be added to either side to balance things out (and no the difference between Gagner and Perron isn't something stupid like the 7th overall pick or the big 4).

Gagner and Pitlick for Perron and Nigro?

No, probably not. I think Armstrong would rather add for someone better and who's a better fit. That's something he's talked about, whoever we get has to be a fit for out team, and Gagner's style doesn't match ours.

We have Shawn Horcoff and the low low cost of 50% of 5.5 Million Cap and 3.5 Million real dollar average for two years! That and #37 overall!
